After "The Mummy 3" and DR elmore, I walked down Broadway to the Theatre District to meet up with Jason for some dinner and a catch-up session.  He just got back into town after a spending a little over a week back home in Kentucky.  He's doing well, and sends his best to everyone.  And it's also looking hopeful, hopefully, that he'll have some work after A Chorus Line closes next weekend.

Does it have anything to do with Mario Lopez?

So, TCB did you work with Discovery Channel?  I'm still trying to figure out how you were so lucky as to be on a Titanic Expedition

I paid a very large sum of money to go there with a whole slew of people including Buzz Aldrin, as well as one of the very last survivors of the Titanic.

I had to do an errand in Reseda, and I had a craving for a burger, so I stopped at Islands and had the Big Wave, which has transmogrified into a Small Wave.  I couldn't believe how small it's gotten - I've been going to Islands for over twenty years and the Big Wave has always been a nice, big burger that took up the whole basket that it came in - it was so big it came with a knife to cut it.  Now they have a new thing - free fries in the basket - I asked our server how many fries and she told me one handful.  In order to make room for the free fries they have cut the burger size in half.  Good for my diet, but not a Big Wave at all.  So, even though I ate a burger it was not a big one, and the fries were not sufficient to cause me problems especially given the two and a half mile run and the two mile walk.  And this was my once a week splurge, so it won't be a prob.  I really enjoyed it, too.

Comparatively, since I saw both shows for the first time on Monday night, Sedgwick's stilted syntax and faux southern accent sounds like "corn" to mine.  Her sincerity shines through, but that vocal delivery must take a lot of effort.

Kyra's accent would bug me and sound fake to me if I didn't know several people who have a very similar accent. But Holly Hunter seems to throw away a lot of her lines, and her shpeech shounds annoying to my earsh.

What is your favorite all-time movie theme? (only two answers allowed, no lists**)

** Violators will be sent to derBrucer for punishment.

I think my two favorites would be BORN FREE and MOON RIVER.

You can bet I'll be tuning in for Randy Newman. Thans to Der B for mentioning it!

I pre-ordered the new album. I've heard several songs from it and am looking forward to hearing him in concert. There are tons of articles, interviews, etc. abou the album. I think Nonesuch is doing a great job of promoting it, and Randy is looking great!

Is there a way to save the video news casts off the internet?  I would love to have the reports of my trial but don't know how to do it. I may ask the lawyer for the defendant in the next trial who is getting them for her change of venue motion, but the TV station is charging $175 a clip. That seems outrageous to me.

There is. ;)

Are all the links still available?  I have a program on my home computer that can capture YouTube-type (.flv) video clips, which those are.  I can't put them on a DVD to watch in a regular DVD player, but I could put them on a CD-ROM so that you could watch them on your computer.  Would that be okay?

I see.  I was totally fascinated with the history of the Titanic (as opposed to the movie - which I also enjoyed).  I am still very jealous. I would have loved to have been there, too. An experience like that is priceless

Had a marvelous time with Dexter tonight. Well, with the Dexter box set. I do think Michael C. Hall is cute, but the boxer/writer that Deb dumped in favor of Keith Carradine would be my pick of this season's men.

I have defended her (Kyra's) accent on several occasions on this forum. I have known many women in my life who sounded exactly like her. Occasionally I hear a word here and there that lose the accent, but she's mostly right on.

Just in case HD On Demand doesn't offer MAD MEN episode 2 in HD, I set the DVR to pick up the next SD broadcast of episode 2 just to make sure I don't miss it.

The best laid plans . . . .

PROJECT RUNWAY tonight. The challenge didn't interest me much, but I did like several of the designs (but not the one that placed second).

What the bottom two people were thinking I just really don't know. I do think the right person went home as the designs have been lackluster for awhile.

As for Stella, how much longer can she coast through this with the same (uninteresting) look and style?

Happily, MBarnum!
JAB WE MET finally arrived from Netflix, and I think it's a brilliant film!

Right now, I'm also quite hooked on KRRISH (2006) for the action/adventure and love story that it is.
