When I was at the Naval Academy a fellow midshipman got his girl "in that way" - he refused to marry her (he would have been booted out had he done so) and her family (Texas) threw her out. We got her a plane ticket to DC and my future Mother-In-Law picked her up at the airport, put a wedding ring on her finger, and took her home to stay (and arranged for the baby's private adoption). Even after graduation the louse of a mid refused to have anything to do with her. Things worked out for the girl - she went back to Texas, married a soon-to-be successful Oklahoma business man and moved to Oklahoma city and raised a lovely family.

That was very nice of your future mother in-law. I can't imagine kicking my child out, and giving up my grand child. I'm glad the friend married well, and not to the jerk.

Good Evening!

Another day in New York City. Another wonderful day in New York City.

First of all, the weather was glorious. Summer was definitely in the air, but the humidity was comfortable, and the sun was shining. Best of all, the forecasted rain and storms held off (so far - I'm seeing thunderstorm and tornado(!) warnings on the TV screen right now). It made for a perfect afternoon for walking around the UWS.

And while walking around the UWS, I happened to come across a cheese tasting at Barzini's... YUM! Lots of varieties, lots of flavors, lots of different scents.

All very good.

Then it was off to 84th Street to meet up with DR elmore to see "Journey to the Center of the Earth in 3-D". Fun, fun, fun.

Then, if I'm remembering correctly, I believe there might have been some macaroni and cheese, and an ice cream sandwich somewhere during my walks today.

Hmm... If walking is making your back hurt, it sounds like you're not stretching before nor after your run/walk. After is more important since it will also help get your spine back in alignment after all the "bouncing". If your back continues to hurt, then I'd suggest taking a day or two off, or else you may end up doing some damage back there.

*Also - How old are are your running shoes? They can wear out faster than you think - especially if you use them for daily walking around too. A "crushed sole" can cause a lot of back issues. -Trust me on this one - I know from experience.

**And since you are running every day - and not taking a day off in between runs - you might want to invest in another pair of running shoes, and alternate them from day to day.

It worked - and no one had to worry about the whole "When in doubt, throw it out," dilemma.
