DR Druzy, I used to grab cats like that and hold them close to me under the covers.

Maybe I'll try that.  Thanks.

That works for Boo, too.  Although she doesn't want to eat she wants me to play toys with her at 3:00 AM

I say it's none of our business and they shouldn't have to say anything.

I fully agree DR Cillaliz. It is a private family matter as far as I am concerned.

Dog Bosco keeps coming up to me and giving me a lick. I think he is needing some attention.

DR elmore - and other NYC-area Hainsies and Kimlets:  Here's a "traffic/transportation alert" for tomorrow and the next couple of Saturdays...

Summer Streets

It sounds like a cool program, however, it will be interesting to see how some of the die-hard New Yorkers take to it.  Well.. and the taxi drivers.

Will Car-Free ‘Summer Streets’ Work?

Hmm...

The Log Cabin Republican Club Fest is also taking place tomorrow.  In Greenwich Village.  Hmm... That could be interesting.

OH!

DR elmore - And speaking of street fairs...

This Sunday is also the Dominican Day Parade which will block off Sixth Avenue from 36th Street to Central Park South.  -And there's a corresponding street fair on East 60th Street between 5th and Madison Avenues.  Plan your trip to 59E59 accordingly.

*Or at least get the cursing out of the way before you get on the bus... and into the theatre.  ;)

I had to go back to the SMART PEOPLE Blu-ray for a few minutes when I went back down. I had not watched one of the bonus features (the cast and director at Sundance; it was only 4 minutes), and I had neglected to check the sound meter to see how many Mbps the PCM 5.1 track was displaying. (Yes, I have been fussed at for leaving out that information on other Blu-ray reviews. It was 6.9 Mbps - the full 24-bit uncompressed experience).

Since I had a nice bunch of hours free before PSYCH came on, I put on BILLY ELIOTT and watched it. Lovely film. The best thing about it, of course, apart from the wonderfully bracing dance sequences, was the way the father and older brother came around to thinking about Billy as a dancer. That was worth the price of the DVD.

Next, I put on the CHICAGO Blu-ray because there are still bonus features on the disc I've never watched. Tonight I watched the rehearsal footage of the "Hot Honey Rag" and Renee recording "Nowadays." Then, I went back into the movie and watched those sequences.

Next, I put on HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN on Blu-ray and watched about an hour or so of it. Always enjoy revisiting the POTTER films, and now that I have them on Blu-ray, they are just SUCH a pleasure to watch.

PSYCH made me laugh out loud, and how brilliant was the casting for Steven Weber as Shawn's happy-go-lucky uncle! Fun episode.

All writing done for the day, so I think I'll head downstairs now and read a bit before going to bed.

Good night!

Now THAT'S how you light an Olympic Cauldron!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*And if you happened to just miss it, I highly recommend setting your DVRs and VCRs to record the rebroadcast of the opening ceremonies, and/or or look for it on YouTube shortly.

Pretty darned nifty if you ask me.   In spite of my initial "this is boring"post, I found the Opening Ceremonies quite fascinating.

Maybe he just wants more fruit?

A dear friend planted her placenta and planted a plum tree on top. She also planted another plum nearby. The placenta plum bears much more fruit. Every year I enjoy a jar of "placenta plum" jam. (My DH can't get past the name, so I have it all to myself!)
