There's a new Debra Messing series coming. I believe it's on USA.

Well, it's kinda new. It's a continuation of her Emmy-winning miniseries from last season THE STARTER WIFE. Most of the same cast (except for her ex-husband who is now co-starring on HOUSE). Judy Davis, who won an Emmy for her supporting performance, is also returning to the show, and that's VERY good news indeed.

Good morning!

Heavenly cool air! The temps went down last night as predicted (59!) so I was able to throw open the windows and doors and ventillate the house. It has been a super morning with cool breezes wafting in through the window in my office. Of coruse, by the time I go downstairs in about an hour, I'll have to close everything back up, but I'm hoping to get another night of cool out of this brief hiatus from the summer heat.

ON TV tonight:

TRANSFORMERS on HBO-HD. Since I didn't see it at the theater and didn't rent/buy the DVD or HD-DVD, I'll record it and watch at some point during the next week.

I also have the penultimate episode of THE MOLE on the DVR as well as last night's MONK. I'll watch one of those today while I cook and eat lunch.

I had kind of planned to do the Blu-ray of NIXON today, but glancing at its 210 minute running time has made me postpone it until tomorrow. Today I'll do the Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus concert film on Blu-ray. There are both 2-D and 3-D versions on the Blu-ray (four sets of glasses enclosed though I have plenty of others here), and there aren't many bonus features so I should be able to do this entire disc today.

59 degrees, Matt H? Some people here would be turning on the heat!

I was so pleased that it was only 82 when I went for my walk before sunup.

Happy that your SINGIN' IN THE RAIN has been so successful, DR JRand, but why are you helping put on that guy's makeup. Don't tell me he's one of those men who can't (or won't) apply his own?

Yes, it sounds very cool, but when your house starts out at almost 80, 59 outside only cools it down about 5 degrees by the time the sun comes back up.

How very strange.  When I turned on the computer this morning, I had to sign in to AOL as usual; but when it opened, HHW was already open to the page I left from last night!  How can that be if I wasn't signed in to AOL?

If any of the late night denizens were here last night, did you notice if I was listed as being here?

Thanks to everyone for the continued vibes - second night was great.  The audience really has a good time, and when it starts raining, well they can hardly be contained!

DR TCB - any reviewer who thinks BYE BYE BIRDIE is a lightweight bubble gum musical should not be reviewing theatre.  Then again, I didn't see the production.....

Actually, Jrand, the reviewer liked the cast, said only positive things, but basically condemned the theatre for choosing the show.  Very weird.

I am very glad that SINGING IN THE RAIN is going so well.

Now questioning whether this trip to Vegas on the 17th is worthwhile, with all the horror stories about the airlines.

Although I am looking forward to seeing Cher's mature-audience show, and I'm very curious about the Phantom spectacular.

I think you will really enjoy PHANTOM.  It moves along at such a fast pace, and without all hundred and one verses of each song, that you really get caught up in the show from beginning to end.

And the effect to the chandelier and the emergence of the opera house are stunning.

Saturday morning greetings!  It's a typically weird day at the library.

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up...  And I'm sort of wishing I had gotten up earlier since it looks like another beautiful day outside.  Ah, well... There's still plenty of daylight left.

I have some computer chores to do to tidy up the desktop a bit, and then I'll head down to check the mail and then start on lunch.

*Although, I may end up taking it easy today due to my left knee.  It started to "hurt" yesterday morning.  It's just a little sore - only when I touch it - right on top of my knee cap, but it only really hurts when I put weight on it - especially when I'm walking down a flight of stairs.  So...

I've had this before, and it usually just goes away on its own.  I can still walk around, I just can't walk at my usual pace.  So, we'll see.

Good morning, all! This is late for me.  I slept in, got up, bathed, answered some emails, checked my bank account, and here I am. My colleague in Toyland edits is off to London for a week, and this is my week to work on the libretto and make final adjustments, as well as continue on research of  The Lady of the Slipper.

Today, I'm chilling out and doing as little as possible. Tomorrow, I've got work at Toyland in the morning, and then I meet DR Jose for Skip's show, which is at 3:15.  Speaking of tomorrow, DR Jose, thanks for the street fair info.

I need to do a bit of research into the Victor Herbert show Wonderland, which was originally titled Alice and the Dancing Princesses, in which Alice, the Mad Hatter, Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee and other assorted Lewis Carroll creations solve the mystery of the Brothers Grimm "Twelve Dancing Princesses." They don't write 'em like that no more!

Today is our family reunion...the sun is out so perhaps it won't rain (it did rain during the night). Dog Bosco is very excited to see all of his favorite relatives.

Thanks so much, DR TCB.  I called the doctor's office this morning for my test results and dosage and one of the doctors called me back himself.  This medication is pretty tricky stuff.
