Anne Akiko Meyers - violinist

-One of the first Classical artists to be advertised/portrayed as "sexy".  And she plays well too.  ;)

Oohh... Current weather reports are reporting some very heavy rains and some flooding on parts of Long Island.  I hope DR vixmom and her family are safe - and that their house, at least their basement, stays dry.

Two off the top of my head:

Avigdor Miller, ultra-orthodox rabbi & lecturer
Alan Moore, comic/graphic novel writer (League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, V for Vendetta... both considerably better than the movie bastardizations)

Do you think DR GINNY and DH RICHARD will talk to people on their vacation about AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS, and someone will say:

"Oh we saw that in Cincinnati."

LOL!

Probably, DR JRand, or when we get back to SW OH.

I've been meaning to tell you that we did see Singin' in the Rain in Cincinnati several years ago.  One of Rob's friends attended Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy for high school and they did a superb production.

And one for....

Alma Mahler

That would technically be Alma Schindler Mahler Gropious Werfel, but who's counting?

All together now:

Alma, tell us
All modern women are jealous
You should have a statue in bronze
For bagging Gustav and Walter and Franz!

(one of my favorite Tom Lehrer songs, whose sheet music is shamefully not included in the published collection)

Am I missing something, or was this a regularly-featured forum trope during my long hiatus? (in which case, who dared reference Tom Lehrer in my absence?_
