Is "The Tom Lehrer Song Book" any different than the "That Was The Year That Was" songbook?

Didn't know that there was a "That Was the Year that Was" songbook, but if memory serves, "The Tom Lehrer Song Book" only included songs from the first album. Too Many Songs is the only in-print collection that I'm aware of, and it basically includes the songs that were featured in "Tomfoolery," with a smattering of others ("Werner Von Braun," if memory serves). A friend has a copy of "Hannukah in Santa Monica" that I keep meaning to steal borrow from her at some point...

edit: Oh, and of course:

I'm still undecided. I like the photo DR Jose caught very much, but there's too much wrinkled shirt.

Maybe one of our techie DRs could "crop" the photo for you!

A. bk didn't identify his entry (did you make, and then delete, the one on page 9?)

B. Use Advance Search and change the "max age since last post" to 1 day and you need only the name. (Failure to do this drives the search engine into overdrive as it tries searching all the HHW files.)

That's the book I have, "Too Many Songs".  I have never heard "Hannukah in Santa Monica",  is there a recording?

Also, there was a time in my young life that I used to do Tom Lehrer songs at the piano at different "living room" room concert things.  Too much fun

"Hanukkah in Santa Monica" is one of the previously unreleased tracks on Rhino's box set The Remains of Tom Lehrer. (The top reviewer on that item is someone I know intimately).

While correcting it, ensure the "Ann" under "Ann Marie" is corrected to "Anne", as you corrected George about it earlier this morning.

Nope - Ann Marie is not an "Anne", "Ann Meara" is an "Anne"

Hi, Gang. Just dropping in to check things out.

I'm tired but glad to be back. Home anyway if not at work.

I know every inch of the Hubert H. Humphrey Terminal at the MSP International Airport since I was there from 2pm until 7pm. It wasn't hellish, just annoying. The really annoying part was getting off the JFK Air Train and not being able to buy a combo ticket to get out of the Air Train and get onto the Long Island Railroad. You can get a combo ticket to leave Air Train and get on the subway but it was 11:45pm on Sunday evening. I wasn't going to wait and then sit on the E train for the time it would take to get to 14th Street and 8th Avenue. The Air Train to JFK is (IMHO) not terribly user friendly, especially for people coming into NY who don't speak a lot of English. I won't rant off but I will say when the MTA sucks, it sucks big time!

I have taken both the JFK Air Train and the Newark Air Train and while there should not be a lot of difference between the two, I think the Newark Air Train is better and I look forward to using it when I go to Madison in two weeks.

*And I know what you mean about the AirTrain.  What's really weird is that the terminal/exit/entrance/ticketing set-up is also slightly different between the Jamaica and the Howard Beach stations.  Thankfully, the first time I took the AirTrain to and from Jamaica station, I had read enough "warnings" online about buying my fare cards and tickets in advance.  Consequently, if I'm getting reimbursed for my transportation, then I splurge on a car service of taxi.

I had a good time at the Reunion. Did I mention the reason I went to Minnesota was for a family reunion? Well, that's why I went. My cousin Ray from Sheffield also came. He was a big hit. I am the only family member who had met him (here in New York and in Cardiff) but he's a great guy, much better at socializing than me. He fit right away. I, on the other hand, while having a good time, did sit back often and think, "Where the hell did I come from in this group???" They are all nice people but the only thing I have in common with most of my cousins is the gene pool. Professional drinkers they. Aside from a margarita now and then with with our own Mr. Moore, not I. After the official reunion broke up they all went to a bar and did shots. I went home to bed.

I'll try to re-size some pictures tonight (my sister takes good pictures but they are very large and won't fit without downsizing) and post a shot or two tomorrow.

We have to get together and hoist a margarita and then watch Chad Mitchell and Company. I'm free this weekend and next weekend.

I should be working but I have stopped for the day. I'm waiting for my paycheck. We get paid the afternoon before our actual paydays (on the 12th and the 28th) so I'm waiting for that lovely man from payroll to bring my envelope.

Anthony got his first paycheck from Fireside (he's having a wonderful time, by the way) and was disappointed at the large amount of state taxes Wisconsin has decided to remove. He'll have to file WI taxes next April but at least he's working.

I forgot on tv tonight also:

High School musical reality show on ABC

And (here at least) American Mall (the high school musical type movie)

I reviewed and commented here on THE AMERICAN MALL a couple of weeks ago. The DVD comes out tomorrow.
