I wonder if there is a market for slightly used T-Shirts from that FA site that should not be named  or indeed for "What is it Fish? T-Shirts from MANY years back?

DR derBrucer,
...The lack of a major tentpole picture for Warners next summer that will in any way match this summer's THE DARK KNIGHT for them is a much more logical reason for the move. Otherwise, their second quarter report next year is going to look SO measly compared to this year's that it might cause a minor tremor in the company's stock.

Makes sense - I do wonder if the comments about the writers' strike mean they are, in fact, behind schedule for a Nov. release as well.

I'm up, and sitting here like so much fish.

Or as they said in days long gone by:

I'm sitting here like so much Akeeta!

DR Jane - I kept an eye out for fresh vegetable markets in Chicago. I saw a big sign for a Fresh Vegetable Market when I was in the cab going to the hotel from the airport. Now where that is in Chicago...I have no idea.   I'm sure there are fresh markets in various neighborhoods, he may just have to look

I'm glad the Olympics are on.  I went to the office this morning and there wasn't anything I HAVE to do before Monday.  Wow. That's the first time that's happened since sometime in May. It's so nice to be able to just puttter around the house.   I mowed 3/4 of the yard today before I got too hot and had to stop.   I'll finish it up tomorrow.  It saves a lot of money for me to do it myself.

The weather was beautiful in Chicago.  I'm not into baseball, but I enjoyed sitting outside. It was in the 70s and sunny..I left early and took the train back to the hotel. Of course the minute I left the White Sox hit 4 home runs.  I was still glad I left.

Well...no Red Bull for Ginny!!!

AOL NEWS

Quote
Energy Drink May Raise Stroke Risk
CANBERRA (Aug. 15) - Just one can of the popular stimulant energy drink Red Bull can increase the risk of heart attack or stroke, even in young people, Australian medical researchers said on Friday.

The caffeine-loaded beverage, popular with university students and adrenaline sport fans to give them "wings," caused the blood to become sticky, a pre-cursor to cardiovascular problems such as stroke.

The Austria-based company, whose marketing says "Red Bull gives you wings," sponsors Formula 1 race cars and extreme sport events around the world, but warns consumers not to drink more than two cans a day.

Rychter said Red Bull could only have such global sales because health authorities across the world had concluded the drink was safe to consume.

That final argument suggests that cigarettes must be safe to consume :D

Gee, I will be sure and remove it from my list.

Different strokes for different folks. .

IF you think that a cockney pseudo-Divine narrator is an inspired touch -since there really isn't much of a narrative - then this ersatz ghost story, mixed with Nazism (only as a last resort) might just be up your alley. . .

Netflix says it was 'enjoyed' by the same people who 'enjoyed:'
GODS OF OLYMPIA
A SLICE OF TERROR
MURDER IN PORTLAND
all of which are mentioned, in addition to TRAVELING TO OLYMPIA and K-HOLE, in the film's only bit of humor that actually works. . .

The weather in New York has been gorgeous today.

There was a street fair on 6th Avenue (not very good) and this is one of the weekends that certain streets are closed to cars. We can walk on Park Avenue South from 14th Street all the way uptown. It's great!

Like TCB I always wanted to be an actor. I don't know where the bug came from but that's what I wanted to do. I did it for a long time and now I'm someplace else. If I had a chance to go into it again I would seriously consider it. There is nothing like it, for me.

Just had a nice and large meal at a local eatery.  Had Eggs Benedict and some Buffalo Wings and that's that for today's meal.  I just felt like eating more than I've been eating, and given the long jog I felt fine about it.  And I didn't gain from yesterday's salad.

Had a nice dinner of kielbasa and wagon wheels (my grandmother's recipe).
Wagon wheel pasta stirred into home canned tomatoes with an equal amount of salt and sugar, plus some onion slivers and butter makes a nice easy filling meal on days when you don't really want to cook. . .

Dixie and I just had a pleasant little walk.

Now I may go to Appleby's to meet up with a couple of Borders coworkers, or. . .I may not.
