I'll be finishing up the FDR disc today (2 more hours on it)

Then, I'll be heading right into the TRUMAN set which is also two discs.

If I get some time this evening, I'd like to watch a Blu-ray for fun, perhaps A CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER.

But it all depends on how the TRUMAN disc is set up.

As for Today's Topic Free-For-All...

Basically riffing on yesterday's Topic of the Day...

When, how, why, etc., did you know that you wanted to do what you did grow up to be and/or currently are doing - since the two might not be the same.  ;)

*I'm sure there's a better way to phrase that question, but I'm still waiting for the coffee to kick in fully.  ;)

If anyone dreams of becoming a grocery cashier, I've yet to meet one of them.  It just made sense, given my enjoyment of the food world and that they were hiring at the local store three years ago.  It's certainly worked for me!

Thank you all for the birthday greetings yesterday!

The wedding was wonderful and you will not believe its the same The Vixter when I get back to NY next week and post the pictures

She went out with her cousin, the Bride, to have her hair and makeup doena nd we did not see her again until we were at the church..

I know she's mine, but gosh, she was stunning....

The reception followed the British custom of havinga  dinner and speechifying, speeches by fathers and mothers of Bride and Groom, Matrons of Honor (there were 2) Best Men (there were 2), siblings of the happy couple and anyone else who wanted to speak.  The Vixter came up and gave a spontaneous speech tellinga story about how she and her cousin (who is 10 years older than her) were mistaken for mother and daughter several years ago and Vixcousin's indignation at the time that she could have been thought old enough to have a 8 year old daughter then she segued into her apprciation for havinbg sucha wonderful older cousin who cared and looked after her as if she wer a mother and segued into what a woindeful mother she is sure the Bride will be someday.... Vixdad, Vixgranny and Vixgrandad and I wer all beaming she did a much better job at with her spontaeous speech than many of the people 2 and 3 times her age who had written theirs down

I guess I'll take care of a few computer chores and then head down to get the laundry sorted and then start thinking about what's for lunch.

Think while it's cool outside I'll go out and mow the rest of the yard and clear out some weeds and brush that's grown in places it isn't wanted while I wasn't paying any attention.

Good day one and all...

Life is settling down -- somewhat!

I have been insanely busy as of late with work, love life and a other sundried activities. DBF just left for Utah yesterday afternoon after  a visit of nearly a month. We took a trip up north and did some exploring through a few day trips.

Never knew there was a rest stop in Northern ND that was built like a fort...

I spent the morning working in the garden and slapping those perky skeeters that DR Ron talks about. Not only did a few follow me indoors, but one rode in on my arm. The nerve!! SWAT!!

The mosquitos here are terrible, plus I discovered a new yellow jacket nest. One stung me on the fingertip, but I shook him off before he got a good hold on me. Semi-ouch. Beside the usual dozens of mossquito bites, I was also stung by two "sweat bees". Not as bad as a real bee sting, but hurts much more than a mosquito bite.
