And speaking of food - and aren't I always - I definitely need to forage for some late lunch now.

DR edisaurus - Ice cream for breakfast works for me! Especially if it is Strawberry ice cream. Heck, just add some granola... :)

Well, Richard just had apple pie for lunch, so he's on the same wave length!

We did, indeed, have a nice visit with DR Ben, celebrating his 28th anniversary in the City.  We took the bus to 34th and Madison Ave. to SIBL (Science, Business, and Industry Library) to see "The Real Men and Women of Madison Avenue," a retrospective of lots of familiar advertising from the past 40 years or so.  It's not a huge exhibit, but one that makes you remember things you thought you'd forgotten.  We took 2 more busses home and I'm now icing my foot to get ready for the evening:  Evening Prayer at St. Mary's, a light supper at Cranberry Deli, and the closing perfomance of Skip's Summer Shorts 2.

I'm back from my doctor and he's puzzled that the blood sugar control I've been taking daily has stopped its effect.  Today, my blood sugar level is so far off the chart that I have to present myself shortly to the St Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital emergency room at 114th and Amsterdam Avenue for IVs to bring down the level. I may be admitted.

I'm waiting for the postman and my cell phone to recharge and I'm off.

Warren Hull and I did write a book together on the subject, entitled FAMILY SECRET, available from Amazon and other book dealers.

Thanks for the opportunity to give my book a plug.

 :)

I'm pleased to give you the opportunity ;).  The book looks very interesting, I'll see if any of our local stores has a copy.

I just remembered something.

Today is the 28th anniversary of my arrival in New York City. A friend and I left Minneapolis on Tuesday morning, August 26th and we drove all day Tuesday and Wednesday, spending Wednesday night in a motel just off the Holland Tunnel. We arrived in New York City at 14th Street and 9th Avenue at about 10:30 on Thursday August 28th. Boy, has 9th Avenue and 14th Street changed!

So have I ;)

Happy 28th Anniversary of Your New York Arrival, Ben!!

TOD

Doctor Who, both classic and modern.

(Uh, duh.  Wasn't that predictable?)

Me, too!  Except that I've never watched many of the classic episodes.

Torchwood is another series that I love!  And The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Murder Most Horrid!  I love this show!  It was the first time that I had ever heard of Dawn French...or:
French and Saunders

And I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Upstairs, Downstairs.  My parents loved that show.  A couple of years ago, my sister and I got them the entire series for their anniversary.  They were very happy. :D

I used this word in a lyric to a tune I wrote many years ago entitled "In 20th Century Pompeii."  Just thought you'd like to know.   ;D

Can you post the lyric? :)

There's a big crowd and lots of commotion down on the sidewalk outside Letterman.  I just opened the window and leaned out to discover that it's the audience warm-up guys teaching people how to laugh.

As predicted, the A/C had to come back on today, and it's popped on a couple of times this afternoon as the humidity is pretty high.

I watched 2 1/2 more episodes of PERRY MASON this afternoon. In two different episodes, quite famous Oriental actors played major roles. Vicor Sen Yung was in one episode. In another, a VERY young George Takei and Benson Fong in a second.

I stopped the last episode halfway through before the court proceedings began. Elliot Reid is a primary guest star in this one.

Back from a very long but very nice and good meeting.  Much was discussed and Mr. Joel Grey stopped by our little table to say hello, which was fun.
