I've been watching The Valachi Papers.  I picked up a really cheap copy of the DVD because I thought I didn't even know it had come out.  As soon as the film started, I began to feel that I've already had this DVD - it's not here so I would have sold it, but since I like the movie, why?  Unless I saw it on TCM or something, but I just feel that I've seen this DVD.  Since I can't figure out how to search the notes archive I can't find out.

Well my birthday was on Sunday, so Saturday night at midnight my boyfriend took me out, and surprised me with a big gathering of about 20 of my friends at a local cafe/bar in the area! I'm one of the oldest of my friends, so he had made arrangements with the owner to let my underage friends in anyway with marked hands, so that we could be together. I happen to have very generous and giving friends who were kind enough to buy me drinks, and I had a very, very nice time :). On Sunday, Tim and I visited a bunch of vineyards in the Shenandoah Valley, and then my family came down to take us out to dinner. It was low key and fun!

I mastered the picture problem on my own!!! Huzzah

-And, yes... Today turned out to be another long day - well a full day - with Disney.  I guess this makes up for all those days where I'm booked - and paid! - for eight hours, but only ended up working two.

Today's auditionees were, overall, a better group of talent, but there were still some "hot boxes of crazy" who came in to show us what they got - and then some! Alas, some of those "boxes" also walked out of the room with the most dejected expressions once they realized they were not being asked to stay for a callback. Ah, well... :-\

I knew if I was patient it would pay off department: When I titled today's notes, I remembered that I really want a copy of Meredith Willson's book about the making of The Music Man, But He Doesn't Know The Territory - I finally found a reasonble copy and it's signed.  I'm picking it up tomorrow morning.

So, right now, I'm taking care of some laundry, and I'm watching last night's season premiere of "Top Design" via the DVR.  It really shouldn't take me too long to pack.  I believe I've streamlined my process over the past couple of months, and I will also not be checking any luggage either.  However, there is some cleaning I want to take care of before I head out - I just like coming back to a clean room after a trip - and that might take a little while.  We shall see.

Of course, what I really want right now is a nap.

bk - DR singdaw normally signs out - a.k.a. turns in early - so... ???  DR Cillaliz is working at the office and/or around her house.  As for DR JRand, I'm sure he has a good or indifferent reason for not checking in today. -Not all of us can sit in front of out computers all day waiting for people to post.

Otherwise, by continually asking "WEHT?", all you're doing is annoying everyone else adding to you post count.

They have stated an intent to violate the permit - then it is lawless, and vigorous action should be taken.

The anarchists have made clear they are spoiling for a point - they shouild[/b] not be dissappointed.

der Brucer

PS Per the other day, I think the hooligans conducting the Boston Tea Party were misdirecting their anger at the government toward private property and should have been prosecuted.

Will this be for a portrait shot, by themself? Or as part of a group?

If by themself, first tell them up front that it will feel uncomfortable to "pose", but it will look great on film.

I like the "turn and squat and look":

Look toward the camera, then TURN your body to the left or right about 45 to 90 degrees.

SQUAT down as comfortably as you can go, leaning forward slightly too if possible.

LOOK towards the camera, craning your neck as much as you comfortably can. Then have the photographer shoot your face. Again,it will feel a little uncomfortable and "posed", but the resulting pics look great. *If you seen a couple of opera singer photos you'll notice a lot of leaning shots. **And if look at my 8x10s on Facebook, I am actually sitting back on my ankles in all of them.

And everyone really does have a "good side" and "bad side" when it comes to their faces being photographed.  Be sure to have the photographer take pics from/of both sides - unless your relative already knows their good side.

As "Tip 2" stated, by turning toward the camera, it lengthens the muscles in your neck.  The turning also ends up pulling down some of the flesh in your face too at the same time.

You can also modify that position by jutting your head forward - almost "like and Egyptian".  Again, it will feel uncomfortable, but it will look good.  *And I believe I gave you that coaching at the gathering last week, and I have the photographic evidence too! ;)

Oh, and one more pic taking tip...

Make sure your shirt is sitting properly on your shoulders.  -Especially along the back of your neck and shoulders.  Remember that scene in "Broadcast News" where William Hurt advised Albert Brooks to sit on his shirt and suit tails?

Jose - Thanks, that's great!!!

DR FJL - You're welcome.

*Oh, and I guess I meant to say that when I had my 8x10s taken when I was in Los Angeles, I was sitting back on my heels not my ankles.

[move=left,scroll,6,transparent,100%]Let's hear it for our DR Jose![/move]

He just left after setting up my glucose meter, and my blood glcose level 10 minutes ago was 173!

But he forgot to take the CD of Moross' music for "The Cardinal" and other films.

You're most welcome, DR elmore.

And I guess I'll just have to come back next week to pick up the Moross CD.  Spoo!

*And I think you should try to do another "Control" testing tomorrow morning.  -Remember, you put the strip in first, then push the button when you do the Control test.
