That is scary, for you & for all the children you help.

I don't think even Republican candidate Dino Rossi would dare mess with the social workers jobs in Children's Services.  However, there are only 40 of us across the state that do the job that I do.  Those are the types of jobs that Mr. Rossi wants to privatize.

That seems like so few jobs.  Good Luck!

For some odd reason I have a song from Spamalot running through my head.

I am not yet dead....

Well, if I l lose my job, the cats and I will hitchhike to New York and take up residence on elmore's fire escape, in the hope that DR Barnum will come to visit!

Hmm... The construction is still going on across the street.  The jack-hammering and the bright(!) lights are a bit distracting to say the least.  I wonder if they're just trying to get the work in tonight that they were supposed to do tomorrow.

Much as I'd love to visit with DR Jose on this trip, my work load is just too intensive. I can't really spare even an hour for a meal which is why I'm cooking in all weekend.

Each to his own priorities.

I'd regret that opportunity missed.

I am ready for this election to be over.  From the time I first floated the idea of voting for McCain, I have been called names, have had someone who I thought was a dear friend stop talking to me and start telling everyone how insane I am for voting for McCain and have had so many of these "change" and "inclusive" Obama people be the meanest and most narrow minded people I have ever seen.   I am so sick of the way that I have been treated that there  is no way I will ever vote for Obama.    Beyond that, I think I'm done talking politics.

Just let these so-called friends that you are far too intelligent to cast your vote strictly down party lines.  Let them know that you prefer to study the candidate.

Just for DRElmore!

Biscuits not cookies in Australia.
Crackers are fireworks.

The term "Candy" is rarely used here. Lollies or Sweets. Toffee is I think what N America would call taffee.

"Crackers" if used in the "Biscuit" sense would be non sweet ones used with Cheese of Paté!

Cotton Candy = Fairy Floss
(Just a reference to the fact that I do read Michael's Punjabi Posts).

It's 55 degrees here right now, the highest temp in the next few days will be 70 degrees.  Want to come visit?
