I'm quite tired.  Watching the rest of The Man With Bogart's Face - after that, who knows.

DS Rob just called from the road - he and Mary Linda are on their way here after a festive day.  They celebrated his 23rd birthday (which is tomorrow) with friends at the Renaissance Festival and then went to a wedding in Greenville, OH.  We'll celebrate tomorrow with dinner at the Montgomery Inn.

So, I'm signing off for the night in order to greet them when they get here and hear all about today's festivities.

'night!

DB, I've seen that map.  It is very difficult for me to see maps well enough to read.

While driving to the mailbox & back I listened to a small bit of Borodin string quartet #2.

Your day sounds almost as exciting as Ginny's.

I gotta tell you.  It was seventy-nine degrees in the house when I came home - I finally have it down to seventy-one and I'll now turn off the air and hope it stays that way for a while.  Meanwhile, I don't know why, really, but I'm feeling very restless.

I think "Buddy" is still running (or again) in the West End.

Good Evening!

Well, what a lovely evening this turned out to be!

During the Fall Convention, the Central Office of SETC hosts a "fancy dinner" at La Vecchia's Seafood Grille for the board members and basically anyone else who wants to come along.  It's  a chance for everyone to have a nice meal in the middle of all the meetings and auditions that take place over the weekend.  -And La Vecchia's is a very nice restaurant - "Charlotte's Only 4-star Mobil Travel Guide Restaurant".

I went to my first dinner last fall, and went to my second one tonight.  It was quite the assortment of board members, teachers and company reps. I think there were about 45 people there at two long(!) tables.  For my entree, I chose their Blackened Seafood Trio (Shrimp, Scallops and Tilapia) with Andouille Sausage, Caramelized Shallots and Roasted Mushrooms over Cheese Grits.  YUM!!  And for dessert, I had their Chocolate Crunch Torte. Another YUM!

And, best of all - and as a total surprise - the head of SETC bought my dinner for me!  :)

*Guess I should have ordered some wine and an appetizer. ;)

I'm listening to Mrs Herb Alpert's wonderful rendition of "Rio" - the Mike Nesmith song.

DB, I've seen that map.  It is very difficult for me to see maps well enough to read.

In words:

If IKE is to threaten mainland Florida, it will have had to make a course change to the north by 2PM Monday.

If IKE is to threaten the Tampa bay area, we will see a major course change by 2PM Tuesday. (If IKE is going to Tampa, it needs to skip passing over Cuba, therefore it will remain a strong storm.

If Ike follows his nominal track, by 2PM Wednesday we should have a better feel for whether it will:

A. Veer sharply right and head for the Fla Panhandle

B. Veer sharply left and head for Texas or Mexico.

C. Stay on its nominal track and slam ashore at Southern LA, MISS, or ALA

It seems unlikely that New Orleans will escape a major impact (something between a direct CAT 4 hit to a glancing blow from a CAT2 hitting Mobile Ala)

Does that help?

Woo and Hoo !!!  I just discovered that Channel 60 on our cable is now The Big Ten Network.

"The Big Ten Network" - Hmm... I wonder if that could replace DR elmore's VCR?

DR MBarnum - I did take some pictures of the "cultural highlights" at today's Festival of India, alas, most of them were not euphemistic.  ;) I did not bring my card reader with me, so I won't be able to post any of my pics until I get back to NYC. However, I was fascinated by some of the hair "decorations" that some of the dancers wore.  One mother commented that she had spent six hours weaving the small flowers and ribbons into her daughter's hair. Truly beautiful work.

DR Tomovoz - Are you flying directly to Paris from Melbourne?  Or are you first flying to Sydney and then proceeding from there?

...And now I'm watching the end of "Catch Me If You Can" on ABC... I think this is the only film where I actually like Leonardo Di Caprio.  And it was also the first major film that Amy Adams was in.  :)

DR Danise - The reason DR elmore is taking Bilberry is because I remembered you mentioning that you take it whenever you go see a show. :)
