I am still restless - not sure what I want to do about it.  Not really in the mood to watch another DVD, although I may try to find one that suits me.

I gotta tell you.  It was seventy-nine degrees in the house when I came home - I finally have it down to seventy-one and I'll now turn off the air and hope it stays that way for a while.  Meanwhile, I don't know why, really, but I'm feeling very restless.

It got much warmer here today than anyone was expecting, and unlike every other night this past week, it's not cool enough for me to open things up and cool the house down with fresh air.

Thus, I'm destined to go to bed tonight with the A/C turned on automatic and hearing it click on several times during the night.

I spent the entire night with Horatio Caine and company in Miami. I watched seven episodes tonight. A couple were good mysteries, but Horatio's son was introduced as a recurring character this season, and I find the kid insufferable so I always dread any episode where he appears.

It's even worse later in the season when the lousy non-actress Elizabeth Berkeley appears as his mother for several episodes.

The last episode featured Dean Cain in one of the season's strongest episodes with some truly tragic consequences for a family.

Some UK "Chocolate" now has to be renamed as it does not meet with EEC standards.  I think Cadbury in the UK is much the same as in OZ. I am nevertheless taking a small supply of "Frogs" and "Bears" for my UK friends.

One of the episodes featured a commentary; otherwise, there have been no bonuses. I haven't looked ahead at other discs left, but I suspect all the bonus featurettes will be on the last disc.

I would think I should be able to get 10 or 11 episodes watched tomorrow. That would still leave a few for Monday, and there's that new vampire series beginning on HBO tomorrow night (and the return of ENTOURAGE) which I'd like to watch either "live" or at 10 from the DVR.

The new vampire series is by Alan Ball, and if it's even half as good as SIX FEET UNDER, it'll be well worth watching. It's gotten good reviews so far.

Another example of a good procedural getting all tangled up in complicated inter-personal conflict subplots - the writer's take their eye off of the ball.

I'm back from a wonderful anniversary dinner with Ron and Dona and 10 guests. The company was excellent as was the meal. I sat with Mr & Mrs John Simon, who's one of the most erudite men I know even when I don't agree with his drama criticism, Howard Kissel, and Dona at one end of the table. Ron's section of people included director John Margulis and his wonderful wife Judy, who's with the Metropolitan Opera and who's also been diagnosed recently as a diabetic, and Jim and Patricia Wand. Jim was one of the writers of PUMP BOYS AND DINETTES and Patricia was a cast replacement in the original production of VANITIES, so part of tonight's discussion was the new musical version.

The dinner choices were scrumptious: caesar salad or soup, roast chicken or salmon, which I had with eggplant and some strange wonderful veggie, butterscotch parfait or cheesecake and fruit. I finished it off with some peppermint tean and I'm home and ready for bed.

Safe travel vibes to DR tomovoz and Colin![move=left,scroll,6,transparent,100%]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I agree totally. The mysteries suffer at the expense of these soapy happenings among the team members.

11PM IKE update:

The storm's track has moved south - removing all of Florida (save the Keys) from the cone of uncertainty.

Land fall on the Gulf Coast has also moved west - New Orleans still in the high probabilty area.
