As to today's Sarah Palin Book List, I was sent the email by a person I believe to be of more than above average intelligence, who - I'm sure - received it from someone he considered to be of above average intelligence. I find it sad that someone's spreading lies but I'm sure there will more of it on both sides. Remember all the brouhaha a couple of weeks ago about Obama's plane?

I no longer trust any chain email letter. I'm shocked at how few of these have turned out to be the truth and now check them all on Urban Legends @ http://www.snopes.com/ and/or on Fact Check at http://www.factcheck.org

I just hit reply all and sent the link that was listed here earlier.  And I've already gotten a couple of e-mails from people who basically said "Who are you" and didn't want to be told it wasn't the truth.  People's political agendas are so strong sometimes they'll believe anything that's told to them because it plays into what they want to hear and believe.

I heard the same rumor today at my annual book discussion pot luck lunch.  I sent them all the link & have so far received a couple of notes of appreciation.  These same people will also be using the fact checking site in the future. :)

Hmm... Watching "Fringe" right now via the DVR... Not only was that a great opening, but a friend of mine is one of the guest stars!  :)

*I guess the rumors about everyone having to sign a "non-disclosure/secrecy clause" are true.

And it seems that I somehow missed last week's NY Times' "Dining & Wine" section. I've been catching up online, and finding lots of cool and new information about gelato, burgers and Shake Shack.  :)

*And there's a great article about Marcella Hazan's upcoming memoir.  -Ah, look at her initials.  ;)

Well, the opening credits spell it all out.  There may be other guests stars, but since I started clapping and cheering when I saw his name, I didn't notice.  ;)

She's not the only one. Just today I helped in the killing of trees by tossing, unopened, most of the crap in my mailbox. Now that I have Caller ID I also don't even answer many calls. If it's a number I don't recognize I google it and find that most often it's either a sales call (from some off shore boiler room) or some call center working for a nonprofit and I have no problem ignoring every one of those kind of calls.

Are brick and mortar card stores closing up all over??? In my neighborhood alone we have lost 3 in the past 2 years. One of my favorites closed last week without any notice. I found out today when I went to get Rosh Hashana cards and some birthday cards. There is still one open on 23rd Street and Park Avenue South but that's one of the few in the area. It seems like e-cards are driving card stores out of business. Don't know if it's true but it sure seems like that's happening.

And now to bed. Gracie Fields has been serenading me but I have to get up for work in 8 hours.

Good night.

For those that have a Blu Ray player.

Best Buy has a number of titles for $14.99 a bargain for new copies. I can't even find a used copy of for that cheap.

I bought
Bullet
The Shining
The March of the Penguins
The Road Warrior

also available
Clockwork Orange

and some others that I do not remember

There seems to be an industry-wide Blu-Ray sale right now. Both J&R and Virgin here in NYC are also having a $14.99 sale.

She thinks that nothing of interest happens at her job.

I say any job where people ask if they can pay in bananas must be interesting.
