I love stories about on-stage "screw-ups".
...

DR Elmore and I were in a community theater production of Auntie Mame that was a screw-up from start to finish.  In the scene where Mame entertains the Upsons, the flaming drinks got out of hand and we almost burned down the set.  As the maid crossed behind the sofa, Mr. Upson casually turned to her and said, "Nora, would you take this please?" and set his Goblet of Fire on her tray.  She exited stage-right and made it look like part of the script.

They don't say "senile" anymore, do they?  Seems like any mental problems the elderly have nowadays are described through clinical medical terms.  Well when I get old I plan on going just plain old senile, dammit!

Now, who are you people again?

Well, if I were travelling to Egypt, I'm sure I would senile.

Best play about the theater - FOLLIES by a mile.

On TV Tonight:

More season premiere and new episodes:

CBS - NCIS, THE MENTALIST, WITHOUT A TRACE
NBC - THE BIGGEST LOSER, LAW & ORDER: SVU
ABC - DANCING WITH THE STARS
FOX - HOUSE, FRINGE
FX -   THE SHIELD

I'd still rather watch EUReKA.

Someday perhaps a great TOD would be: what music [if any] do you listen to when you excercise?

How come whenever my friends and I acted out The Wizard of Oz, I always wanted to be the one playing Dorothy?

Sometimes...for amusement...I consider the possibility that some people change their names when they are legally able to do so.

I have come to this conclusion because I've never known any kid who was named "Todd", but all of the adult men I've known who are named "Todd" are gay.

Of course, this cannot be absolutely the case.

There was a guy I used to know named Todd.

He was a musician.  Played the oboe, in fact.

And he slept with my sister.

In the "Why bother?" department, they shampooed the carpeting in our cube farm last night.  I know this because

A) all the stuff that's usually on the floor was on our desks and chairs this morning, and
B) whatever they used to "clean" the carpet makes me cough and sneeze.
Can you tell when someone is coming up to your desk by the squishy noises?

I have known some men who slept with people's sisters who turned out to be gay, though.

I think actually the noun "bosom" is singular.  But I can't think how you'd re-write the line correctly and still retain the laugh.

They, too, would have become gay had they slept with those men.

I never knew him.

I have known some men who slept with people's sisters who turned out to be gay, though.

As I said, he was a musician.   ::)

Truth to tell, my sister had two women roommates at the time, and he slept with both of them, too.

Hopefully, it was just a phase he was going through.
