BRAZILIAN WAX

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were waxy but not very Brazilian, and now it is time for you to post until the Brazilian cows come home - they're off somewhere blaming everything on the Bossa Nova.

I have a toad problem.  There is a toad that keeps coming into the house somehow.  He was on the kitchen table last night and on the floor this morning.

I keep catching him and taking him out but I think he likes in here because he keeps coming back!  I think he must be coming through the doggie door but I wouldn't think a little toad could move the flaps.  I don't want to hurt him but he has to understand that toads stay outside.

Maybe he's my prince but I have no wish to kiss him.  :)

I think I won a yo-yo once in a school raffle.  And perhaps an office football pool, years ago.  Which is funny, because I don't know the first thing about football.

Good morning, all! I've been out of bed for about 30 minutes - oy! weird dreams last night! - and I have to get the laundry into the washers.  Today is a day of work around the apartment, a bit of work on Arlen-Harburg-Gershwin scores, and MOST HAPPY FELLA.

Prizes I've won?

When I was a kid, I once won 5 chocolate sodas at a drive-in movie.

 :-[

Also as a kid, I was on an Alaskan cruise with my parents and won $5.00 playing Bingo.

 :(

Sad, isn't it?

It's time to put the laundry in the dryers, and plan a 30-minute walk while things dry. Maybe Riverside Park this morning.

DR Cillaliz i'm curious who your favorites are on DANCING WITH THE STARS?

I planned to like rocco. But he is just not very good.

I also like cody and julianne but i find he has so much potential but is just so stiff looking.

The two teams i am cheering for who are impressing me:

Brooke (and david hough). I just think she is incredible. She almost looks like a pro.

Lance (and lacey). I knew lacey from SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE. She wasn't one of my favs. But i'm liking her this year. I love her creative choreography. And i feel like lance is doing great.

What did you think of cloris last night? She did do a lot better! And while i agree that she pushed herself maybe as far as she could go, I thought it was weird to give her an 8 and then give somebody who was obviously better a much lower mark.

I don't watch the show, but I'm sure you meant Derek Hough with Brooke.

Good morning!

A very cool morning, but it's getting up to the mid080s today! Argh!

So, around noon, I'll close everything up and then open things back up when I get ready for bed.

UPS dropped off a review disc this morning. Alas, not SLEEPING BEAUTY. It was SHREK THE HALLS which doesn't street until November 4th. It'll be at least a week before I get that that. Besides, I saw the show on ABc last Christmas, and I wasn't very impressed with it. But, it's only 22 minutes, and maybe I'll like it more on a revisit.

Many years ago, when I worked at Bi-Mart and was our store's credit union rep, I attended a credit union rep meeting in Eugene. I won the door prize which was a dual cassette stereo player.

I haven't won a great many things, but I have won a few items.

I've won Bingo once in my life, and I won a salt and pepper shaker set that included a pepper mill. My parents used that set until the day they died.

I won a contest for the soundtrack LP of MY FAIR LADY by correctly identifying who played Eliza in the 1938 movie version of PYGMALION. There were three LPs offered, and that was back when you MAILED in your entry. The earliest postmark on the envelope determined the winners. My parents were busy on the Saturday when I read about the contest, so I walked the four miles to the post office to get my entry to the PO.

Ron Pulliam's dear friend (whose name just went out of my brain) who had his own syndicated TV program CINEMA SHOWCASE offered the soundtrack album for NASHVILLE as a prize for the first 10 callers. I won one of those.

I've won two CD prizes here doing the Unseemly Quizzes of BK.

And I won the 2-disc DVD of ALICE IN WONDERLAND from The Digital Bits years before I started reviewing DIsney discs.

Those are the first things that come to mind.
