Let's see - I won some little stuffed animals in a TV Contest Contest - you had to submit your idea for a contest on a late night Movie Program hosted by the cleaning lady at the station who went by the name of Wilhelmina.  It was really Mary Ellen Reid, the art director of the station.  She always showed the last movie on Saturday night/Sunday morning and specialized in teen JD movies.

She also wrote a poem to her errant never seen boyfriend that went:

I finally found out who you are
You're someone after all.
I found your name inside your suit
I'll call you Robert Hall.

I have won a couple of sparkling prizes here  at HHW which were always nice to receive.

I won a $50 Gift Certificate for Half Price Books in a radio contest where I had to identify four snippets of music.

And about $54 total in over ten years of playing the lottery and powerball.

TOD - three years ago, I had a real streak, all in the course of about 5 weeks:

--At our library's annual Staff Day, I won anything I wanted from the Recorded Books, Inc. catalog (David McCullough's John Adams on CD),

--At a professional gathering, I won a day planner, and,

--At a holiday dinner that my mom's financial planner threw for his clients, I won the ceramic snowman that was our table's centerpiece.

I should have bought a lottery ticket then!

So if he then sat in a hall watching The Boys in the Hall, it would be:

a Hall on a Hall in a hall watching Hall?

Isn't Monty Hall Joanna Gleason's father?

Good Afternoon!

:)

They finished the surgeries about a half an hour ago, and we'll get to see her in another half hour or so.  Everything went very well, and it turned out she only needed a single bypass instead of a double.

Thanks again for all the Love and Concern.

Yesterday, DR Ron Pulliam posted about BRIGADOON.

But somehow, you just know that it's not Bonnie Jean that all the lads want to go home with.  ;)

TOD:

I've won:

A Campbell Soup sweatshirt from Campbell Soup
A chocolate layer cake at a church bazarre
The BUDDY OCR CD from Tower Records
Two tickets to a touring company of PIPPIN from the Philly Inquirer
A 19" Color TV from McDonalds
A number of Sparking Prizes from the Unseemly Trivia Contest on this here very site

And my favorite prize of all time--I was Boy of the Month, awarded by Sister Mary Francetta in 1st Grade (a prize I cherished so much that I kept the pin and claimed that I lost it.)

I just saw my Mom, and spoke to her nurse. All is well, and it looks like she might even be awake in a few hours. So, my Dad is going to head home for a bit, and I'm going to head back to Carytown for some celebratory window-shopping - and maybe even a stop at For The Love Of Chocolate or Bev's Ice Cream (again).

I do have to say that even though it was a little hard/strange to see my father cry after we got the good news from the surgeon, i'm glad to know that he finally let "it" out. -He's never been one to show his emotions openly. He's very happy right now, and I'm looking forward to HIM getting a good night's sleep tonight (since it was apparently a bit noisy for him last night here at the hospital). And since it's a "light week" in the Cardiac Unit here, my Mom also has only one nurse in CSICU. And Kate has told us that if my Mom doesn't wake up until after the designated visiting window tonight, that she would let us come back after hours. :)

*I also found out that my mother's cardiac surgeon is one of the top-rated cardiac surgeons in the country. -Must have been those Vibes!

I'd credit the crashed stock market rather than the elections, I would.

Hello all!  I just received a phone call from our dear and wonderful cyber-father TCB, and I realized I'd been incredibly neglectful about updating the HHW world about our new little son.  I beg your forgiveness, and can only blame the time-warping tiredness that seems to have enveloped me.  It seems like days come and go in sets of two and three now.  So, on to the news.  As I think TCB told you, Toby was born a little over five weeks early...a complete surprise to everybody.  He spent a week in the NICU figuring out how to breathe and eat on his own, and battling a case of jaundice, and then was allowed home.  I get to stay home with him until December 1st, which is lovely.  He's a darling little baby, who keeps me very busy!  He still hasn't figured out the difference between day and night, but since I'm at liberty to sleep when he sleeps during the day, it's working out alright.

A few pictures -

Vibes to Jose and his family...I hope your mother's recovery is peaceful and speedy.
Vibes to TCB, and anyone else who might need them!
