I've got a wide assortment of candy for the kiddies - little bite-sized Big Hunk and Abba Zabba, little boxes of Junior Mints and Dots, a large assortment of Reese's stuff, Baby Ruth, Butterfinger, taffy, and all sorts of other little things.

Thank you DRs Td, Cilla, George, Jose, TCB, Laura, & Kerry.

Sherlock received a steroid injection, prednisone pills & EXTREMELY expensive antibiotics. He definitely needed to be seen tonight. Hopefully the shot will speed things up & we will see improvement by tomorrow. I can't take him hiking until the large blisters heal.

We will likely never know what caused the contact dermatitis. If we had see the beginnings of it last night we could have prevented him from scratching & making it so bad.

We never expected it to continue swelling so much. If it hadn't been a Friday I wouldn't have called the vet on her cell phone to see if she would be in tomorrow. It's a good thing I did. It is really nice she has told us to call on her cell phone after hours if we need her.

When we lived on the East Coast I had friends ship me Mother's Oatmeal cookies, and I always took a box home with me when we visited L.A.

DR Jose, I meant to ask about the poison oak, and only mentioned the trails we were on. If that is the cause we are going to be in big trouble since there is plenty of it on the trails around here. I have never known a dog to have a problem with it. Usually the dogs give it to the people, not suffer themselves. My guess, it is something else.

I saw the documentary before I even knew there was a book. I think the book is the most damaging to Harland and Woolf. They have a source who was the archivist for Harland and Woolf and saw the documents etc that were kept secret. I won't tell you any more, but I think you'll find it fascinating and if you have seen the docmentary, it really helps to visualize the dives that are described in detail.

Did you read Chatterton and Kohler's other book SHADOW DIVERS? It was really great. I'm not really into scuba diving, but love history and when I read that I was fascinated. I'm so glad they were the ones who found the bilge keel on the Titanic.

One of my former professor's dogs - Michael (sweet, sweet, Michael) - was highly "reactive" to poison oak and ivy. Strangely - and thankfully - I never had a reaction to it. Alas, I only found that out after I had taken Michael for a walk one time, and he started breaking out once we returned home. "Oh, yeah. We forgot to tell you to watch out for all the poison ivy along the trail." $:-\$

However, his break outs only lasted for a few hours, and he never seemed too bothered by it. I think it was just because he was receiving more attention... and treats.

DR TCB, I love Brad Matsen's writing style. He has a way of making what could be dry historical reading very interesting and readable. Both books I read were also VERY well researched. I would definitely read anything he writes

Since I finished my work DVD this afternoon and got the review up before 6, I had all evening to watch what I pleased.

I started with the last of the Fox Charlie Chan movies - CASTLE IN THE DESERT. I had never seen this before, and I was so pleased to once again guess the identity of the murderer before it was revealed. So, I was able to outguess the last three in the Fox series.

The transfer looked very nice indeed.
