Oh, dear, time for another math lesson.

Typical network TV hour is 42 minutes of show and 18 minutes of ads - thats about 43% ads-to-show ratio.

You are complaining about 12 minutes of show for 6 minutes of ads - about a 33% ads-to-show ratio.

Or, in words, if network TV did 6 minutes of ads for every twelve minutes of show, then 18 minutes of ad would buy you a 36 minute show (in fact, 18 minutes of ads buys you a 42 minute show!)

So, in fact, they had LESS commercial ad time than regular network TV.

A show I just rediscovered this weekend also had a terrific ensemble cast--3RD ROCK FROM THE SUN. Everyone in this show bounced off each other in just the right way. Even when the scripts and gags were totally lame, the cast had so much fun with what they were doing that I couldn't help but enjoy the show.
