Well, you've read the notes, the notes were pizzicato and not legato, and now it is time for you to post until the pizzicato cows come home.

I'm up to page 11 on yesterday's posts (why am I still awake??) and I just read this post by Ann:

Well rats.  Target realized it's mistake on the car seats and is canceling the orders.  They have it written in their fine print that they don't have to honor mispriced items, so there's nothing we can do about it.  Should have known it was too good to be true...

Damn them!  Damn them all to hell!! >:(

FROM TODAYS NOTES:

Quote
I also will never watch this channel again – they have more commercials than network TV – it’s shocking – six minutes of commercials to twelve minutes of film.

Oh, dear, time for another math lesson.

Typical network TV hour is 42 minutes of show and 18 minutes of ads - thats about 43% ads-to-show ratio.

You are complaining about 12 minutes of show for 6 minutes of ads - about a 33% ads-to-show ratio.

Or, in words, if network TV did 6 minutes of ads for every twelve minutes of show, then 18 minutes of ad would buy you a 36 minute show (in fact, 18 minutes of ads buys you a 42 minute show!)

So, in fact, they had LESS commercial ad time than regular network TV.

To add to the above lists.

Barney Miller
Night Court

Even the choice of the actors for recurring characters or actors multiple appearances as different characters were excellent.

TOD:

Was there ever a show that had better chemistry among its cast members than THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW?

Maybe...but I can't think of one right now.

But other shows whose ensemble I liked almost as much:

THE BOB NEWHART SHOW & NEWHART
ROSANNE
BARNEY MILLER
ALL IN THE FAMILY
DESIGNING WOMEN

thirtysomething
HILL STREET BLUES
ALY MCBEAL
NORTHERN EXPOSURE

A show I just rediscovered this weekend also had a terrific ensemble cast--3RD ROCK FROM THE SUN.  Everyone in this show bounced off each other in just the right way.  Even when the scripts and gags were totally lame, the cast had so much fun with what they were doing that I couldn't help but enjoy the show.
