Now I must get dinner in the slow cooker or it won't be ready by the time DH Jed gets home.  And he's gonna be mad enough at me as it is...

If you have the correspondence from the ebay buyer and you can prove that you are the person who sold the item, you should be able to prove that the payment from your ebay account went into that paypal account.

Of course she would have to explain away the use of a fictitious name which could be assumed to be for fraudulant purposes.

And just becasue PayPal and Ebay have the same corporate management does not mean they negotiate with each other  at the clerk/supervisor level.

Exactly.  Using fake info on online stuff is never a way to get in their good graces.  You should have heard their tone change when i tried to explain.  it was a very bad thing to do.  But i didn't know that 8 years ago when buying online was still new and unfamiliar.  As a teen, I'd always been told to never give out my information over the internet.

Here's something practically topical:

Subject: Just in time for Christmas

A real virus - don't open any attachment that purports to come from UPS or
FedEx claiming they couldn't deliver a package you sent. UPS and FedEx
don't normally include attachments in any email they send. This attachment
contains a virus. Here is the snopes.com write-up:

This has been a day from hell, with too much stress over that damned STUDENT PRINCE medley, the singer and the copyist's corrections intewrmingled with Fed Ex angst over getting these 37 cartons ready to go. Now I'm off to the dress rehearsal of ON THE TOWN at Encores! I hope it goes well.

And they can check the day "that" account was created and give you some slack, too!

TOD:

Another remarkable cast ensemble, IMO, was the one assembled for the TV dramedy "Popular" on the WB.  I cannot think of one character in this short-lived series that wasn't perfection in his or her role.

I ordered the WALL-E three disk set (out of stock) and the Criterion MONSTERS AND MADMEN 4-disk set which includes a couple of Boris Karloff features from the late 50's made in England and FIRST MAN INTO SPACE and THE ATOMIC SUBMARINE.

I watched DEEP IN MY HEART which was discussed here previously when it first came out.  I enjoyed it very much.....the second half more than the first.  I think the "It" number has become one of my favorite Ann Miller routines....she does some different steps!  And all of the recycled costumes from SINGIN' IN THE RAIN look great.

I also think the "One Alone" dance that Cyd Charisse and James Mitchell do is very close to being my favorite Cyd onscreen....of course I will always be partial to "Dancing in the Dark" - but the set for this "One Alone" - supposed to be from a stage production of DESERT SONG - and the costuming, and the brooding Mitchell makes this one super special.....

Jose Ferrer has a wonderful scene in which he acts out a whole Broadway show, and then he reprises it!  And Doe Avedon is a beautiful leading lady, although she is almost undone by a spectacularly unflattering hairstyle.

Helen Traubel gets on my last nerve....but I have to hand it to her when she sings about the Paris sunrise and also when she sings "Auf Wedersehen".  She is costumed to no advantage either.

WARNING!

I am always pretty cautious about forwarding virus warnings, so I usually check them out pretty carefully before I do.  This one is the real McCoy and at this time of year would be easy to fall for, with gifts and packages being ordered online.

So, I will skip the warning, and just give you the hyperlink.  Better safe, than sorry.
