All of our family travelers are safely home after our festive Thanksgiving weekend. My cousin and his wife returned to Georgia yesterday, my sister and her husband drove to Michigan today and their daughter drove to Illinois. They drove into the snow that Rob and Mary Linda drove out of, returning here from a quick trip Friday-Sunday to visit her family. They're crashing here tonight before returning to Cincinnati tomorrow.

I learned this evening that the woman who hired me for my first professional librarian job, and groomed me to take her place when she retired, passed away last Tuesday at age 92. She was a wonderful mentor to whom I will always be indebted for the start of my career and for bringing me to this community where I met my husband, raised our son, and developed many wonderful friendships (including DR Elmore). RIP, Mrs. Brown.

Thank you, DRs JRand and Cillaliz. I'd kind of been expecting the news about Mrs. Brown, especially when she didn't respond to the note I wrote her a couple of months ago about my impending retirement. Thirty years ago, we were preparing for her retirement.

Good Evening!

Well, my bus back to NYC is scheduled to depart in seven and a half hours...

I have a small bit of packing to take care of before turning in, but, unlike my pre-trip preparations for when I headed down here last week, I do plan to get a couple of hours of sleep tonight.

We're planning on leaving here at 6:00am and should be at the pick-up place by 6:15am. I want to make sure I actually make it on the bus. Well, that there's a space on the bus for me, since there's always a chance of them over-selling the bus, and since we're coming off of a holiday weekend, well...

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend - or just a good weekend, in general, for those DRs who don't observe the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday. I'll be checking back in the morning, and while I'm en route, but until then...

Back from the band rehearsal. We lost one performer, which caused us to lose another, since they were doing a duet - the two In The Heights people - just as well, it was too many ballads in their section.

Then I watched LAW & ORDER: SVU which was this week's episode repeated last night, based on DR td's recommendation.

I had NO IDEA DR td was going to be on the show (well, his doppleganger - Martin Mull)! Very good (and tragic) episode.
