...And I've thought a lot about Mark Wayne Gregory today, and over the past few days too.

There's a strange consolation in realizing that he passed away 12 year ago.  I started thinking back to how much time we spent together, and how our paths crossed in the first place, and, unfortunately, how our "lives got in the way" once I was in school and he had moved down to North Carolina.  But I still think about him, and I'm forever grateful to him for showing me the true meaning of Bravery.  -As well as sharing his massive collection of LPs: cast albums, vocalists, classic disco, even opera.  I realized that we had only really known each other "actively" for about three years, but those three years were filled with so many life experiences for both of us.

I was one of his "chauffeurs" when he was dealing with the government lawsuit.  I was there when his partner, Larry, died.  I was there when we sent off Larry's Quilt Panel to the Names Project, and when, after searching unsuccessfully for a couple of anxious minutes, we spotted Larry's panel being unfurled on the National Mall.  He was there the one time I "ran away" from home.  He was there when we saw Les Miserables for the first time, and the third(!) time. -I would have never noticed what Valjean was packing in his chest during the Act One finale of Les Miserables.  Something so small, but at the same time so big, so meaningful.  And I know he was there when I just happened to come across his obituary years later, which then allowed me to properly say, "Thank You and Goodbye", to him during his Memorial Service - which happened to coincide with the final(?) display of the Quilt on the National Mall.  That turned out to be a Beautiful weekend in many respects.  A couple of Beautiful days for a Beautiful Person.  And thousands upon thousands of other Beautiful People.

I gave my car an early Xmas present Saturday. I went in for an oil change...and $600 dollars later, baby had new (brake) shoes, a new belt and other automobile attire. Ouch.

Last week, I had to shell out $470 for a new battery and alternator. :P

...And I would post a link to Mark's quilt panel, it seems that the Names Project website database is down right now... Which, actually, in a way is a good thing.

And I do owe a big Thank You to DR Cillaliz, Priscilla, for helping me find Mark's obituary and other information. I guess I must have been looking too closely at the Google results.  It is true that sometimes the thing you're looking for is right in front of your eyes.

Well, better to find out that you needed new brakes now rather than later.

I think that if I were ever to direct a production of LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT, I would have the cast take their bows to the theme from CASINO ROYALE and then lead the audience in a go-go dance party.

Another John Doyle production?

John Barrowman seems to be guilty of overexposure during a recent interview.

Been there...

Oh, nevermind, I've already commented, responded to this post... ;)

Just to be non-lyrical for a moment, I love "Pacific Coast Highway," Burt's nifty tune featuring ocarina.

Bacaharch did music for "A William Higgins Film?"   :o

Spoo!?!?!??!  I didn't realize Teri Garr was in that movie too?!?!?!?!

I think someone may need to correct this info on Amazon.com.  ;D

Hmm... It appears that Ms. Garr has been credited as "Teri", "Terri", and "Terry" at various points in her career.  Sort of like, "Mary, Marry, and Merry".

Thanks for sharing that story, DR JOSE, on this day.....

You're welcome, DR JRand.  And now that I've caused my mascara to run and my blush to stipple, I guess I should take some more time to get ready to head down to New World Stages for tonight's benefit.

I meant to mention that HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN was on MGM-HD today, and I recorded it. I had time to watch about five minutes of it, and it looks GORGEOUS! When I finish with BROTHERS & SISTERS, I'm going to watch it tonight as well.

Tarry
Terry
Teary

I think the song "Never will I Merry" (the Linda Ronstadt version) was mentioned by DR Jose the other day.

Now quite a Bacharach reference but there is a connection:

I'm listening to Odd Job Man/I Wanna Be a James Bond Girl. (Leroy Holmes) at the moment.

Am i right in assuming that a benefit show at New world Stages is as dress-casual as any New York theater performance?

Less than Lucius Beebe but more than John Barrowman - that's my guess.
