Well, I don't think I had any sleep at all, and I'm quite light-headed, but I'm all packed and dressed, teeth are brushed, and I suppose I shall now put Ye Olde Laptop in its case and mosey on downstairs in a few minutes and be on my way to the Newark airport.

Last night, we had our next-to-last rehearsal without an audience.  We have a show Thursday night with a suggested minimum donation of $5 as an "actors' benefit"...meaning the cast and crew get to split all the money that's taken in.  If we sell out, it'll be a total of about $400!  Between all of us, though, it'll be less than $20 per person.  But still, it's better than nothing. :)

Otherwise, the rehearsal went quite well.  We're in great shape for having such a short rehearsal period (for this theater group ;)). The only real issue is that of sound.  Sometimes the chorus are singing too loud for the soloists, and sometimes the band is too loud.  We're not using any body mics so we all need to be more aware.  We do have a couple of floor mics and several that are hanging above the stage...but still, it's not a great situation.  I just hope that the soloists will be heard clearly. :-\

So, we have tonight's rehearsal, tomorrow's preview/actors' benefit and then we open!

I'm at the boarding gate. Drive here was fast, but security took about thirty minutes.

I'm on the plane and in my seat. It's quite chilly in here. I'm hoping it's not a full plane - I'd sure love an empty seat next to me.

First class is practically empty. I asked if there was a way to upgrade for a fee. They said yes - for $800. You would think they'd make it reasonable and get something other than ten empty seats, but alas no.

$800.00???!!!

Yikes.

Hope you can get some rest, if not sleep, during the flight.

A friend of mine used to bring an "extra" box of donuts, or an "extra" box of chocolates, etc., to the airport for the gate staff.  He always got an upgrade.  :)

I thought I was going to luck out with empty seats next to me but now I have a talkative older Chinese couple next to me. The gal across from me did luck out and has two empty seats next to her.

So if she has two empty seats, can you move to one of those (take the window) and at least have one empty seat next to you

Well, if the plane does not fill up, just kindly ask the flight attendant to "notify" the couple next to you that there happens to be an empty row a few rows back... ;)
