Laura was a very strange private person.  Se retired from the music business when she was like 24, but then she came in the Seventies, but I don't remember if she was still writing.  I saw her in 74 or 75 at the Paramount Theater in Seattle, but I only remember her playing her older stuff.

spooo!  :o  I apparently saw her in 1976, when she did a four month tour.  Wikidpedia says that she did release a couple more albums into the 1990's but I don't think I have ever heard anything from them.

That season finale is the last episode on disc 4 of the set, so I wondered what was going to be on disc 5.

Turns out, it's the first three episodes of season four! I have the London-based season premiere cued up ready to go when I go back down.

Isn't that rather unusual; to include part of the next season?

Yes those are airplanes in my avatar.....

I watched the extras on the EASTER PARADE and BANDWAGON sets last night.  Interesting.  Of course there was also the Judy Garland By Myself American Masters program.

I also watched some of FINIAN'S RAINBOW.....got all the way up to "Old Devil Moon" - I like Fred and Petula, but Tommy Steele is so strange looking and Don Francks has an unusual look that I need time to think about......  And I think Hermes Pan had some problems.....I really hate it when the first thing a choreographer has EVERYONE do in a song is SIT DOWN!

I think "Old Devil Moon" is the sexiest song number in the history of movie musicals. Sexiest dance number is open to some discussion, though "Dancing in the Dark" and "Heather on the Hill" are among my favorites.

I've always liked "Old Devil Moon" very much. Sexiest song? Certainly a contender, IMO.

The rest of the afternoon I watched THE CHEETAH GIRLS - ONE WORLD.

Underwhelming is probably the best word I can choose to describe it. Yes, it was filmed on location in India, and the plot proports to cast one of the three girls as the lead in a new Bollywood movie musical. Don't get your hopes up, DR MBarnum, because there isn't a song or dance in the movie that's anything but generic Disney-styled pop rock and bop dancing.

On a production scale, it's certainly more lavish than the last big made-for-cable musical CAMP ROCK, but I didn't find it even that interesting. The girls' singing style is that over-processed whiny-nasal sound, and honestly, I can't tell one singer from the other from their voices alone.

Very. But because of the strike, BONES only did 15 episodes, and I guess they figured they needed to add some value to the box if they were going to charge full price for it.

My news: the appraisal came in at full asking price. A big relief and a surprise, too, given the market. I priced the house according to comps, but what I felt was right, which was higher than my agent recommended. I KNOW she thought I was too high. So this was good news indeed.

However, the buyers have asked for a significant price reduction, based on that %&#%$ home inspection. I just don't believe that all those things are wrong with the house. For instance, the inspector said there was a puddle under the kitchen sink. It's completely dry!! It really is infuriating. I still have trick or two up my sleeve (note to DR Ron: don't misread that).

We shall see.

Congrats on the Appraisal!

I then watched all of the bonus features, not that there were that many. Some bloopers, some pop-up facts and video clips during the film, singalong lyrics for the nine songs, and three music videos of songs I had just watched in the movie.

Well, we're signed, sealed, and almost delivered and The Brain From Planet X can now officially be licensed via The Rodgers and Hammerstein Organization.

Congrats, BK!

Does this mean that community theaters can perform "The Brain" or can only professional or regional theaters get the rights (at this point)?

What is the point of taking advantage of the big sales from places like Oldies.com or Amazon.com; when they end up throwing your order in a corner, till all the regular priced stuff gets sent?  What is the point of ordering the 12-CD Patti LuPone Anthology for that guy from Austria; if you can't get them to ship it?

I forgot Laura Nyro! I love "Time and Love," and I also forgot Joni Mitchell, although I always preferred to hear her songs sung by others.

As if I could.

Jeanne, you cut me to the quick, child!  To the quick, I tell you!

I can think of three...possibly four...other rapscallions on this forum more likely than moi to "misread" that comment.

I shall brood upon this all day!
