She still lets me lick the beaters.

A couple of years ago, I sent my mom a "Maxine" birthday card that said, on the outside:

"A good mother lets her child lick the beaters."

And on the inside,

"A great mother turns off the mixer first."

Good Afternoon!

It's still raining in NYC.

I had a great catch-up session and a yummy Thai lunch with my friend, Peter.

And, now, I'm waiting for my afternoon audition session to start.... And I soooooo want to record the soprano who's rehearsing in the studio next to mine. ;)

I thought Fed Exwould never find me at Toyland today. However, all four cartons went to Ohio and a huge carton went to BK in Valley Village.

I have some things to do here before the opry.

I know there are some fans of the film "Auntie Mame" on this forum, and I would be remiss if I didn't tell you that a wonderful thing has happened:  Bronislau Kaper's sparkling score is now available on CD from the Film Score Monthly label.

Previously available only on LP, in either mono or stereo, the score has long been out of print and highly collectible, especially in Stereo.  FSM got access to the Warner Brothers recording master and has produced the best sound ever for the glorious score.

An added bonus, for me anyway, is that "Auntie Mame" is paired with Max Steiner's gorgeous score for "Rome Adventure."

I watched last night's new episode of LEVERAGE while I ate lunch. Very entertaining episode. But hunky Christian Kane needs to cut his hair. That Samson thing doesn't work for someone of his short (but muscular) stature.

Then I watched EAGLE EYE. Very entertaining action thriller. I loved how it didn't talk down to the audience. For more than the first half of the film, you just have to go with the flow because you're not sure why these things are happening. Slowly but surely, however, the conspiracy plot becomes clear as it continues to ratchet up the tension. Really enjoyed it.

I started on the bonus features. There were two on the first disc, and I've watched three on the second bonus features disc. There are five more items on the disc, so I should be able to easily finish with them early this evening and then have time to watch HEROES and skim though AS THE WORLD TURNS before I start watching LIFE about 9:30 or so.

But it sure does add to his "bad-boy" image.

I am enjoying it, and thanks for the recommendation. Looks like TNT has another winner, though I haven't read any ratings results for either of its airings.

And I agree about his bad boy image. It does fit very well. I've just never been fond of that kind of long hair on male objects of desire.  ;D
