Well, I'm seeing "The Wrestler" at 11:00, and then I have some planned wandering to do before I wander on down to Chez Landau and Kennon for today's Holiday Food Festival.  So...

It'll be a lovely little food festival.  Loads of food, but not the usual crowded full house.

The good part of that is we'll probably all be able to fit around the table, which should be very nice.

And the word of the day is: JENTACULAR!

And The Song Of The Day Is: COOKING BREAKFAST FOR THE ONE I LOVE

                                                      (Thank You FANNY BRICE)

And thank YOU for mentioning one of my all-time favorite novelty songs by the great Ms. Brice! What a treat to finally see it performed in the film it was written for this past year. I ought to take that DVD down again and watch it at some point over the weekend.

Good Morning and Merry Christmas!

It rained overnight and I thought it might be a gloomy Christmas day, but instead, the skies have cleared, it's warm outside, and it's positively glorious. I will be able to sit on my side porch today while lunch cooks and just enjoy the fresh air!

I had toyed with the idea of taking today off, but I want to finish that Rossellini box set, so I will watch the last film in the box today - BLAISE PASCAL. Supposedly, it's the best of the three films in the set, so I'm primed to get a bit more involved with the characters being pictured.

Enjoyed the pictures from the bk party, and always wonderful to see former DR Panni looking so chipper. I hope bk sends regards from many of us to her when he crosses paths with her.

I haven't decided what I'll watch tonight for fun. I have stacks of various things (movies, TV box sets) that are as yet unopened, and I'd like to start making a dent in some of them.

I will watch another NCIS episode from the season 3 set as I eat lunch and before starting on my work project for the day.

Good morning and Merry Christmas to everyone.  We are hunkering down today and not doing much of anything.  Yay!

I'm not sure what i will do today.

I decided to eat lunch at 10am and have some crackers and shrimp mold and 7 layer dip. Then i ate my dessert from last night that i never ate (that my aunt made). She made an interesting mini cheese cake. It was white cake on the bottom. And soft cream cheese (that is how i like my cheese cake) on the top. Very good. And she also made some unknown cookie/brownie thing with chocolate chips. Very yummy.

I forgot i also have potato latkes. So when i get hungry i will have some of those.

I'll probably watch something. I have the 9 last episodes of TRUE BLOOD. And i also have the 2 hour finale of BOSTON LEGAL.

Not sure if i will read. I had wanted to start the 4th book of a series i am reading. But missed the call that the book came in tuesday night. So i can wait till saturday and start reading book 4 and 5.

Or if i want to read today (which i probably will) i can either start the HOUSE OF NIGHT series (i have the first 3 (marked, chosen, betrayed).

Or i can start book 2 of the Gemma Doyle Trilogy (Rebels and Angels is #2). I read book 1 but these books are only due jan 19th. So i may start the other one. Although i prefer to read one series through before starting another!

I think I conceived an idea for a new Christmas cookie last night--a Rum Ball with a chocolate liqueur filling.  I just need to formulize a recipe and then come up with a catchy name.

How about Squirting Rum Balls?

The weather seems better today. No rain.

My niece had to be woken up at 8am to open her presents. She said she got a play dough ice cream maker. And some dora soccer game.

My sis also called to tell me that megan almost blabbed the gift i got to her cousin jessica (the gift i got jessica).

Last night when i gave megan the cupcake maker she was sad she could not play with it for 5 days till she got back from vacation. So i told her (not really think it would register) that i got one for her cousin jessica and that they could do hers togeter.

So this morning jessica calls her and megan says, "hey guess what my auntie got you ..." (and my sis put her hand to cover megan's mouth). :)
