It's good to be assured that Mr. Corman has not kicked the bucket (of blood or otherwise)

Here's the ATC post in question, amid rumors that Mr. Jeremy Piven - suffering form mercury poison - took a 15-hour flight to Bangkok

One night in Bangkok and you hurled your oysters
The fish was tempting so you had it twice
You find some cod in all the holed-in cloisters
And if you're lucky then the cod is nice
Have some mahi-mahi with a little rice

Phoenix is the only place you've ever lived where it is warm enough at midnight to go outside and make merry.

OH. That may be why I don't hear people who may be out banging on lids

Sorry, DR FJL - I've been slacking off on my ATC viewing as of late.  Thanks for sharing another gem with us here!    :)

I was going to go to a movie, but it's cold out and I got home and decided I didn't want to leave.  I stopped by the store and picked up a lean steak and some precooked shrimp to make a nice New Year's Eve dinner.  After dinner I am planning to stay home.  I'm considering priming the downstairs bathroom, but not sure if I want to mess with it tonight.

The jacuzzi was helpful, and I've showered.  The cut on my chin isn't really visible anymore but there is a rather unseemly red bruise there, and a smaller on the other side of the chin.  Another inch up and I would have split my lip and maybe lost some teeth.

Just tell people that you got into a brawl.

If you haven't been to ATC, then you might have missed the Daily News report about Piven Thai-ing one on:

Well... I should get ready to join my friends for dinner.  -Which I know is going to be an adventure since we're just meeting at some semi-random restaurant in midtown - without reservations - and then just taking it from there.  I still may end up back here later to bring in 2009, but if I don't.... Well, I'm pretty sure I'll be back in time to bring in 2009 with the West Coasters.

2008 really has been such an incredible year for me - and for all of us.  I've been trying to think back on the past 12 months over the past few days, and have realized just how "packed" this year has been.  The good, the bad, the surprising, the promising.  I want to thank everyone here on HHW for their friendship and support - especially during the time of my Mom's heart surgery.  I know that I could not have gotten through all of that without those patented HHW Vibes.  Let us hope that we all will be less VIBE-in-need over the next twelve months.

2009: Here We Come!

Happy New Year!

I just wanted to drop in and wish everyone a Happy New Year!

If Greg gets finished with his job in time, we will celebrate by going to the theatre that has recently been restored in Marietta. Since we were involved in the preservation efforts (even though the city councilman will still own the theatre and enjoy the benefits of the millions of dollars that went into saving it) along with our friends, it will be sort of a bittersweet evening, I'm sure as we'll see some arch nemeses(?) along with good friends. I know that I will feel thankful we made the move to Atlanta!

I am still catching up on all the posts---what a dramatic end-of-year! So many vibes, so little time.

So...see you next year as we check in with the west coasters upon our return!

I just spoke to Pat Harrington.

I can personally confirm that he IS alive and well.

Good news!:)

Just spoke to Roger Corman.

He's alive, too.

 ::)

LOL,  are you calling everyone you know to see if they are alive?

After the false rumor about Pat, I figure I better make sure.

I want one!  Who is volunteering ;)

I'll see what I can dig up!

DS Rob and DG Mary Linda arrived about an hour ago.  Richard has gone out for our Chinese food and we're all going to a 7:30 showing of Valkyrie.

Since I probably won't be back until next year:

Happy New Year, HHW!!!

Why do people never remember Lyric writers?

Reminder of Mrs Hammersteins's line re the writing of "Ol' Man River" when the credit was given to Kern.
