A restaurant is not conducive to surgery recuperation.

I should think not!  May the New Year also include a perfectly healed knee for your mother.

Okay, now I'm leaving, but I'll be back before midnight.

Happy New Year to those who get there before I return!! ;D

I won't get there before you do but I bet I'll be asleep.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Phoebe is a cutie!!    :)

I think so too.  She was being a bit shy when I last checked in.  I'm guessing that will change quickly

We were surprisingly busy at the store today.

A lot of customers were planning out their New Year's Lucky Meals.  The Southern contingent was purchasing blackeyed peas, for Hoppin' John.  The Pennsylvania Dutch contingent was purchasing saurkraut and pork, for the same reasons.  And a few were purchasing both, just to make sure their bases were covered.

For some reason, we completely sold out of potatoes.  Potatoes!  And we won't get another delivery for a couple of days!  (And it wasn't just our store - one of the guys in the produce department told me that the other branches were also running low!)

Potatoes!  Who'da thunk!

I wish I had known that before I caught it.

DR CILLA LIZ....black cats were most revered in ancient Egypt - so Phoebe has a fine heritage.

Thanks DR CILLA LIZ.....she is not my kind of dog....but she sure was cute...  I didn't want to hold her....being dogless and all....but of course I did.

And the hair on her head is just long enough for a barrette.

At the risk of repetition...

And since I am fading fast...

Thanks for all the DRs and also for our host.

May we all be blessed with happiness in 2009!   :)

We watched the Kennedy Center Honors program and weren't too impressed.  I would think it would be very difficult to really make this kind of a show come off well.

A list of all previous honorees can be found HERE.

Back from the editing room and early supper at an Eyetalian restaurant.  Let the partay begin.  Let's have merriment and mirth and laughter and legs, shall we?  Let us sip the bubbly Diet Coke.  I stopped at Marie Callender's and got a slice of pumpkin pie because I feel I deserve it after my morning event.

Tomorrow (1) is my wife Sandy's birthday.

I'm told that, for the first few years of her life, she thought that all the fireworks were for her.
