Jane - It actually worked out reasonably for me. The Anderson Cooper-Kathy Griffin show made homebound on New Year's Eve a lot more bearable.

DR MattH - I meant to ask you this earlier: Does "El Norte" include the program they ran along with it when they showed it on PBS? I remember it was sort of a background piece about the making of the movie, and the illegal immigration situation at the time, IIRC.

It appears to have been recently made, however.

Then again, it's been so long ago, that my memory may have filled in some holes all its own.
For a moment, i thought you were thanking the monkey

And while I was sprawled out on the gallery floors today in MoMA, well... But I think it was worth it. Anything for my monkey.

Scott Fitzgerald short story that it's based on, but I have read The Confessions of Max Tivoli which is similar and a book that really stuck with me after I read it. Apparently I'm not the only one who thinks this http://www.publishersweekly.com/blog/90000609/post/1750037975.htmlVery interesting. I will have to read more about the two books. I never read Fitzgerald's short story. We went with friends to see the movie today. The thought of a 2hr 45 min, 3 hrs if you include the previews, Brad Pitt film wasn't all that appealing to Keith & me. We all liked the movie very much & were impressed with the make-up & special effects. Cate Blanchard was wonderful as we usually find her. The big surprise was the superb acting by Brad Pitt.

My mother gently reminded me, after seeing me over the holidays, that I tend to forget to care of myself in my desire to care for Toby and Jed. So I also resolve to take time for myself, taking care of me so I don't get totally run down.
