Off to the land of Amahl.  If we get a break, I'll check in later.

Have fun at the mall! Buy something nice.

A bit snow and a bit if ice made the roads difficult this morning.  So I think I will do all of my Wednesday shopping on Thursday, except for picking up the newspapers.

Interesting MR B story from Danise.

DR DRUXY is in Texas....when is the book signing?  Are they advertising in the local papers?

The book signing is on Saturday (10), 1-2:30 at Borders (on S. Lamar).  I presume its been announced in the local papers.

Taking a break with my feet up on the couch after taking all the ornaments off the tree and the mantle and packing them in 2 huge plastic storage bins.

The house inspection went okay.  No major problems found...and the builder is going to throw in around $750 in extra fencing so that he can put the air conditioning unit where HE wants to put it.

I went to the mall.

Is there some requirement now that everything in malls must be ugly?

Just the majority of customers.

Just received some absolutely shocking news:  our former rabbi, and former DR Dan in Toronto's cousin, drowned while snorkeling in Mexico.  We're really stunned.  Does anyone have Dan's email--I can't seem to find it.  Aryeh was not all that old, and had had twins by a second marriage rather late in life, so they're only about 6 or 7.  I think maybe Jane and Keith knew Aryeh, too, from his stint in Ashland.

Tragic news, DR JMK - condolences to former DR Dan in Toronto and the family of Rabbi Aryeh.

I think I found Dan's email on my old AOL address book and I've emailed him.  This is quite upsetting.  Aryeh was a very gifted composer/guitarist and had frequently asked me to arrange and record with him, we just never got around to it.  Sigh.

In other news...

I've started a load of laundry.

Thank you for reminding me I did not transfer the clothes from the washer to the dryer after we returned home.
It is a nice sunny day, 53 degrees!  We took Sherlock into town for a walk & visit to his favorite shops.

Then I began my review work with Season 2 of Andy Griffith's MATLOCK. I only got 2 1/4 episodes watched because (a) the season premiere was a 96-minute episode, and (b) we had a power outage that interrupted viewing for a bit.

By season 2, Linda Purl had left the show and been replaced with Nancy Stafford.

I liked the episodes with Julie Sommars.

A good-old fashion "naturalist" like yourself should eschew the carbon-footprint monster dryer and hang your clothes in the freah air like God intended.

I wonder if Jane ever used a washboard? A wash-tub with a hand-wringer? A wooden clothes-prop?

Game show I would enjoy being on is THE AMAZING RACE...except that I would want to stop and eat every 2 hours so I would lose...or my team mate would clobber me.

That is so sad JMK, about the Rabbi. I can recall him being discussed around these here parts on a few occasions.
