DR DerBrucer, thank you for the backyard pics.

Your welcome - but the backyard is marsh - those pics are the front-side yard taken through my bedroom window.

OK...

Josh Groban and Heather Headley singing "America (My Country 'Tis of Thee)" backed up by the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington... -That got me teary-eyed.

I just got an e-mail from one of the autograph auction places that I trust, about their auction that ends tomorrow.  In addition to a breath-taking Kim Novak photo; how often do you see an autographed Lili St. Cyr (God Bless, Lili St. Cyr!)?

TCB, What is the site.  I'd like to see.

HA!

Back to my "Fox News" mention from this morning...

From HBO's website:

"For this special event HBO has invited its television service providers to make the concert available for free to all their customers."

Yes, you still have to have cable, but... :)

*And it will rebroadcast tonight at 7:00pm and 11:30pm(EST) - as well as on HBO.com.

DR Edi - my intent in commenting on the baggy clothes wasn't that you don't look ok at work, that's an issue I have to deal with. It's just that trying on the smaller sizes and having them fit was a real ego boost for me, thought it might cheer you too

I liked Charles Nelson Reilly a lot. Every visit he made to Drama Book Shop was a hoot and when he'd call with questions he'd ask for me. He was very intelligent and well-read and he'd spend a bit of time in the shop cruising the clerks. In 1979-1980 we had a very handsome and very smarmy clerk named Craig who went out with Mr Reilly a few times hoping to push his acting career. Charles deserved better. Crag's roommate Richard kept company with Evil Queen Director John Dexter for a while for the same reasons.

More to follow when my bio gets published. Names will be named and tales told.

I will say it again. My name MUST be among the first on that list for a copy!

We got a little drizzle around noon but nothing major in the form of precipitation. It feels much colder out now than it felt this morning.

Sunday afternoon greetings!  Back from church and lunch in Cincinnati and a stop to look at a house for sale (not interested) on the way home.

Thanks to DRs Laura and George for last night's anniversary wishes.

I watched this week's episode of LEVERAGE today (Tuesday's episode; I will NOT forget to record it on Tuesday this week.)

Very entertaining caper, and Christian Kane was especially enjoyable as a chef.

Then, I watched the first seven episodes of CHEERS from its final season. No wonder they spun Kelsey Grammer off into FRASIER after CHEERS ended. He is the most reliable funny man in the ensemble. He and Bebe Neuwirth just broke up in the episode I finished.

Funny to see Kirstie Alley thin(ner) and Woody Harrelson looking so young.

Funny guest star in one of the episodes: John Mahoney (who'd play Frasier's dad in the spin-off) playing a jingle composer whom Kirstie hires to come up with a jingle to bring business into Cheers. John and Kelsey didn't have any scenes together in this episode.

I finished my afternoon of viewing by putting in the last episode in the season 3 box set of NCIS. I'd like to finish it up and put that box on the shelf, so I watched the first 20 minutes of that last episode. I'll finish it up when I go back downstairs.

Funnier than this, it does not come.

Irene Dunne as Cary Grant's ex-wife tries to put the kibosh on his evening with his posh fiancee.

I've been at the office for most of the day.  My desk is now cleaned off, I've been through every file and made my to do list and now I'm waiting for the computer to finish backing up and I think then I'll leave.

I also decided that I'm going to New Orleans for an NACDL meeting the day after Mardi Gras.  I booked my flight, booked my room and paid the registration fee.  I haven't been to NO since Katrina, so it will be interesting to go back.   The seminar is 2 days so I'll have a day free to do whatever I want to.  I used to go to 4 of these meetings a year when I was on the board. Now I'm lucky if I make it to one and it's usually a meeting in NYC so I don't spend time with my friends from the group.    I'm really looking forward to this.   I also have to go to St. Paul in Feb to argue at the 8th Circuit, so I'm hoping the weather is good that month for flying.

Ugh! The last few days have been a real exercise in the perils of being a pack rat and the advantages of minimalism. A lot of what I'd "saved" I hadn't really saved (intentionally) at all; it just piles up and I don't always have time to go through it. Sigh.

I'm not as far along as I'd hoped to be. The packers arrive this coming Thursday, the movers the day after. Matt has disassembled all that needed such--my stationary bike, my desk, my lingerie chest. Plus he took down the antique chandelier that I'll take with me and installed an inexpensive, but quite decent one in its place. Done.

But still lots to do. DR DRUXY is quite right to start early. I started early, too, and it's still a big task.

Same here.

And I'm so glad that it was not programmed as a "Greatest Hits" type of affair.  Very tasteful. Very patriotic. Very inclusive. Even sacred.  Definitely something that will be staying on the DVR for a while.

And then Beyonce showed up to bring me down with her lousy rendition of "America the Beautiful."
