The place they were last seen is a place I walk by on my hike every day.

That's not good.

I modified my post. They were found. The article didn't say what condition they were in -- alive, though.

I found this article on the war against polio very interesting: http://www.newsweek.com/id/180968

How about an article on the Ashland parents who endanger public health by refusing to innoculate their own children against measles, etc.

It appears that the home where the abduction took place was very near DR Sandra's preschool. I hope it didn't interrupt the children in the game of "Your Horse is My Mother" or "Hit the Wall and Yell at the Boys."

DR Laura mentioned a new tumbleweed sculpture.  In Chandler (a suburb of Phoenix) for the last 50 years they would have a big tumbleweed Christmas tree and a Tumbleweed Festival, but I noticed it didn't happen this year.  I suppose there isn't enough vacant land left around there to get many tumbleweeds anymore.

Tell them you know someone who had measles as a child and has life-long effects from it.

Now it's istanbul, not Constantinople,
Been a long time gone, Constantinople,
Now it's turkish delight on a moonlit night...

Some day, Kerry, you and I should take a driving tour around town and take photos of public art and post them.

It's not as good since they've taken the teacups and teapot off the freeway walls.

Only if you and DRSandra provide the titles for the art.

Thanks all for the vibes for my brother.  First thing this morning he was life flighted to Sioux Falls where he underwent an angioplasty and had a stent put in. I don't know too many details except that he is very sedated and that they are hoping he can get out of the hospital in the next couple days.   He had a 100% blocked artery when he was 35 or 36 years old, so it wasn't a surprise that it was another heart issue.

Thanks.   I'm hoping that he will get in shape again like he did last time this happened.  He's only 51 now, so he needs to do something about his health.  I heard that they were thinking of doing weight watchers, I hope so.

BEST ACTRESS

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS

* Amy Adams in “Doubt” (Miramax)
* Penélope Cruz in “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” (The Weinstein Company)
* Viola Davis in “Doubt” (Miramax)
* Taraji P. Henson in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” (Paramount and Warner Bros.)
* Marisa Tomei in “The Wrestler” (Fox Searchlight)

Taraji has certainly come a long way from her awful role in BOSTON LEGAL. I couldn't stand her character on that show.

That's who she is!  She looked so familiar but I couldn't remember where I'd seen her before.  I thought that she was very good in "Benjamin Button."  I didn't mind her character in "Boston Legal," but she wasn't one of my favorites.

I have tried explaining how very sick my sister was.  They don't believe it.  If my father had not been a doctor & my mother not been so adept at caring for her, she would have been hospitalized.  Home was safer.  The only long term effect I was familiar with was blindness.  My parents were very scared about that & kept the room very dark.

My brother & I followed her severe case with very, very mild ones.

Thanks Jane.  Last night a friend told me that soon I'm going to need to wear a name tag because no one will recognize me. I know it was BS, but it was fun to hear anyway

I've been worried about my brother for a while now.  I'm really glad that DR Samantha took him to the hospital and that he got this taken care of.  Last time he had to go to rehab. I'm hoping that's prescribed again. Then he'll lose weight

Yes, she called my mom from the road on the way there. Adam left from Des Moines at noon, he should be there by now.
