Evidently, I picked the wrong thing to be compassionate about. Pardon.

You know I still can't figure out why this show never took off?

And Jeff Altman is so cute.

Interesting - I make a lovely announcement here before anywhere else and no one bothers to comment on it?

A sad world if you need to apologise for compassion Michael.

The world changes way too rapidly - because the technology is there - we don't need it.
It's often much easier to accept the status quo where we are comfortable.

No-one has convinced me to even think about blue ray, ipods, MP3 players etc.  I don't need them in my life.

People need to be given a real reason to accept change.  Seeing a clearer TV image is probably not that important for many.  It is also about priorities often - and that can mean $ priorities.

I think your compassion is wonderful.

I wonder if anyone has ever considered a Christmas Album for Brett Barrett?

(I'd rather an album of Newley/Bricusse songs).

I don't mind technology, in fact I love it. I just thought it would be nice to have some compassion for the oldsters, and  I couldn't understand why the delay in switching to digital would make a difference to anyone else. It doesn't to me. But your mileage may vary.

... why should it matter so much if they moved the deadline a bit in order for others to catch up. It seems like such a minor inconvenience, or rather for most people, no inconvenience at all.

That "minor inconvenience" means a delay in the government reaping the 10 Billion dollars they'll get for the sale of the freed up frequencies. It also means a delay in providing these needed frequencies to wireless companies to expand networks to service our schools and to our first responders to provide needed improvements to emergency communications. So for those who care about the big picture, it is a major obstacle to progress. I don't mind the government appropriating the added funds to ensure everyone can get a converter box coupon, but other than that, there is no evidence that a delay will help any senior citizen.

Re THE CLOSER -

I wonder if Kyra knows how much she was upstaged by Kitty throughtout the closing minutes of tonight's opening scene?
