The third time was indeed the charm and I now have the last proof of "The March of the Toys" in my possession. It was in the carton I checked yesterday, but I guess my hasty check was too hasty. I've got my meds and all is well. In about an hour, when I've warmed up - it's cold out there today! - I'll run to the post office and mail a cassette to my publisher and then stop at the market for some chicken cutlets.

Everything she does in FINIAN'S RAINBOW

My favorite performance of his is Henry Higgins, which I saw him do with my beloved Amanda Plummer as Eliza in PYGMALION.

I'll have the afternoon to myself and then once it gets dark, I'll watch FRIDAY THE 13TH Part 3 in 3-D. I think the 3-D may work better in a completely darkened room. At least, that's how I'm going to handle it. Then, I'll have plenty of time tonight to write it up. Other than the 2-D version and maybe the trailer, I don't think there are any other bonus features on the disc.

I saw Petula Clark in the national tour of SUNSET BOULEVARD and I actually liked her takes on the songs more than Betty Buckley's renditions which I saw in NYC. The Broadway production was, of course, much more magnificent in its opulence than the tour's sets, but as the show was not really great anyway, I just sat back and enjoyed Petula's performance.

Good morning!

Glorious day here. Not a cloud in the sky and not hideously cold either. A perfect late January day!

Matt H., I hope you find time to go outside and enjoy the day.

Back in 1996, I saw Petula Clark on the London stage in SUNSET BOULEVARD.

Loved her, but aside from one song ["With One Look"], I didn't think much of the show.

The first time I met Petula was in Hollywood at radio station KFWB where she was signing 45s (I had my 45 of Downtown signed - heaven knows what happened to it).  Then I saw her in Las Vegas in the mid-1970s where she shared the bill with, if I remember correctly, Michel Legrand or Joel Grey (can't remember which, but most likely the former).  Then I met her backstage and then supped with her when I was thinking about recording Blood Brothers.  Then we did our album.  Then I saw her in Sunset Blvd. and we had a marvelously marvelous time at the little opening night party they threw.

I am trying to figure out whether I'll jog today - it's cutting it close if I start at nine and I certainly won't be ready to start before then.  We shall see.

A little too chilly to spend much time outside. I'll have to wait for warmer days ahead.

My bedroom living room ceiling...do you think it's too much?

Those balls are huge!  And look at the length of that pipe!

GAnd I'm also glad that bk is enjoying THE PRISONER!
And what took him so long?

I recently loaned the series to my friend Jeff from the store, and he loved it.

My own favorite Pet Clark songs are Color My World and 'Round Every Corner.

Downtown was overplayed, and lost it's punch IMO, but obviously a lot of people think I'm wrong on that one.   ::)

I've always thought it was a good thing that Peter O'Toole never had much of a singing career.

It's even better that he never sang a duet with Lee Marvin.

If that picture of Edi's cat keeps getting copied, we can be in Cinerama on every page!

I don't think we've ever managed that before!

(Happy Birthday, Michael.)
