I've got absolutely nothing to do but sit here and be annoying.

And you hardly need practice for that.        ;)

But practice makes perfect!

The guys in my basement are really nice.  They have the tack strips down and the pad installed.  They just took a break for lunch and to cut the carpet to fit the room. Then they'll come back and do the carpet.  It's already a lot warmer in the basement.

I let the girls go see the progress.  They were pretty freaked by the pad. I think it was the glue to put down the pad. Whoa!  I opened the sliding glass door for a little bit and it smells much better.

Boo was funny earlier.  She managed to get through the door I have shut (it's a swinging door) she went downstairs when I was talking to the guys, ran around the room to be sure we all saw her and then ran back upstairs.  LOL, she is such a character

I walked up Broadway to 96th Street and down Amsterdam. That's 28 blocks. It's a bit slippery out but the cold wasn't awful and I enjoyed myself. There were several ambulances and fire trucks out with screaming sirens so something was afoot and the Broadway downtown side was blocked off at 94th Street by police cars. I make it a rule to curb my curiosity and clear out of the way.

One last set of receipts to tally up and my taxes are finished. I just paid my third of the property taxes on the Ohio white elephant so my fiscal duties for the week are nearly accomplished.

Well, Bailey was great at the specialist's and we really liked her. He snuggles with everyone he meets and kisses them and makes friends fast. She confirmed that what looks like a swollen tear duct is a cyst between the two tear ducts. It could be removed by surgery ($2500!) but that could also create more problems than it might be worth. But between the time we took him to his regular et yesterday and this morning before we left, somehow the cyst drained. (I'm sorry, I should have warned the squeamish.) It's just clear liquid in there. I don't know if he rubbed his face until he opened it up a bit at the bottom but it's much better, so we may just continue to keep an eye on it (a little opthamology humor) and see what happens.

So now our plan is just to have his teeth cleaned and while he's knocked out, do a little exploring, but no surgery at this time.

Thanks for all the vibes...maybe that's what created the drainage! :-)

On Sundance Channel this month is an interesting Israeli film called THE BUBBLE, comedy-romance-political statement.....but nothing at all like SEX AND THE SINGLE GIRL.

This is quite an exciting week. Today I'm getting my  new carpet and Friday Edith is getting married!   I am going to be one of the witnesses. It's just a small civil ceremony and they will do a bigger wedding in California next summer.  She's tried to play it down, but I know she's excited.

As soon as the carpet is in, I'm going to go get a gift certificate for them.  There are such good sales on and I don't really know what they need or want so I'll get a certificate and they can get whatever they want.  Of course she also gets a paid day off, that goes without saying.  I'm very excited about it and was thrilled when she asked me to be a witness

DR JRand, if you are not completely happy with the looks of your theatre company's website, maybe you can get help from the person who designed this one:  www.yvettesbridalformal.com  (be sure to wait to download the entirely appropriate music clip!)

DR CillaLiz, maybe Edith can shop for a gown on this page (if she can figure out exactly where to click, that is...)

We are going hiking today. It is supposed to be 82 degrees today.

I was very happy to have sunshine & 60 degree weather yesterday.  Right now it is about 50 degrees.  Alas rain is expected tomorrow.

After reading the symptoms of salmonella in this morning's paper, I'm thinking that may indeed may have been what I had a week or so ago.  Though I can't for the life of me figure out where I got the peanuts, as that is not a regular part of my diet.

This is scary.  Because of my nut allergies I tend to read labels.  You don't always realize what is mixed in there unless you read the ingredients.

I hope you don't get that again!!!

DR DtM - I appreciate your interest, but I think we will keep our site the way it is.

HOWEVER, I do think DR CILLA LIZ's friend Edith should check out Yvette's site.

Ninety dollar wedding gowns!  None of these gowns has yet been worn, somewhere there is a lovely bride for each of these gowns!!

Click ANYWHERE on that site for different music and photos.  I am agog!

Could someone post that link again for the recalled items?  We're assuming Adam's Natural Peanut Butter is not on it, but we want to make sure.

It should be safe:

That's Laura DR up at the front of the Denny's breakfast line yesterday...  :)

I hope not.  Last night we watched a commercial for the special breakfast.  It would send anyone's cholesterol off the charts.

TOD:
Do any of you folks have photo radar on your streets and freeways? Or is this something that is unique to Arizona?

Internet browsing suggests that at least the following states (or locals within these state) have photo-radar:

New York, Illinois, Maryland, Tennessee, New Mexico, Virginia, Ohio, Texas, North Carolina, Oregon, and, of course, Arizona.

DR JMK - Just remember, you can get salmonella from things other than peanuts.  Are eggs a normal part of your diet?

I always wash the eggs before cracking them open.
