The only memory I have of SEX AND THE SINGLE GIRL (other than thinking Natalie was beautiful and Tony was handsome) was that I got the soundtrack album as one of my 8 free discs from the Columbia Record Club, but I traded it to a friend for the soundtrack to Tom Jones.

The snow/ice is all gone. Hopefully it killed some of the grass which was starting to sprout in the front yard. It's WAY too early to start thinking about mowing the yard!

RE IDOL:

Hopefully with the group numbers tonight, we'll hear more singing but thinking to years past, that wasn't the case either, so I just don't know. The manufactured "drama" of people having meltdowns shown on-camera is old and unappealing. Oh, I don't doubt the singers' sincerity. I'm sure the pressure is enormous. But the camera going in close to get all of the emotional collapses is not entertaining to me.

Well one thing that makes me hopefull is that this year Hollywood is being shown over 2 weeks. So probably they will show more?

I watched last night's LEVERAGE while I cooked and ate lunch. Good episode, but we got down to the final six minutes or so, and things looked pretty hopeless for the team. They wrapped it up very quickly (but it was a satisfying end).

I spent most of the afternoon with MIRACLE AT ST. ANNA. It's a affecting war drama (with a little mystery thrown in), but it could have been shortened by at least 45 minutes.

I certainly didn't expect to see D.B. Sweeney, Robert John Burke, Walton Goggins, and Gordon-Joseph Levitt in the movie. Peter Frechette pops up briefly in a courtroom scene, too.

There were 9 deleted/extended scenes that I had time to watch. All were wisely cut/trimmed.

There are two more featurettes that will total about 30 more minutes of bonus features to watch. I'll finish it when I go back down.

I have a question for the library workers here (or even people who use the library a lot).

Is it common to cut up little paperbacks?

My sister's library takes their small paperbacks and cuts off the front and back and glues it on to this hard covered frame.

Now it obviously makes the books last a lot longer. But it just seems so wrong to me to cut up books.

DR Jennifer - that's a standard rebinding practice for paperbacks.  The alternative would probably be discarding the book all together.

I did not know that. I need to check my library. But i have never seen a book rebinded in this way. Although all the soft covers i've taken out from my library have been the larger one. I am going to check and see what the smaller ones look like. But i just found it very odd (it looks odd too).

Not only do we have photo radar vans that move from place to place, we also have permanent cameras all along the freeways.

DR Tomovoz, what is the format of the download?  Could it be burned to a CD by itself and then ripped from that CD into any format that you require?

I'm hopping off-line now to get some writing done and then will head back downstairs to finish up MIRACLE AT ST. ANNA and then enjoy some prime time TV.

If TNT's new show "Trust Me" doesn't pick-up the writing, it will be short-lived. The second installment was a grade or two below the opener.

My question for ASK BK day:

What is your favorite 45 rpm record ever recorded.....perfect matching of song/artist/production.....it never gets old no matter how many times you hear it.....

I would say that my most listened to 45 when I was a kid was Hot Spell - Ernie Felice singing early Bacharach.  A little later, my most played 45 was Peter Nero's version of Elmer Bernstein's Summer and Smoke.

I really must buckle down Winsocki and write more pages.  I've done less than three so far.  I took a food break and went to a local place called Tom's (not Tommy's) for a burger and onion rings.  I've never had a less than great burger there or less than great onion rings, but today's were both awful.

It's 83 degrees and breezy right now.  The forecast says that we're supposed to enjoy our warm weather because we have a cold snap coming in a few days with a high of 65 by Sunday!  Just when I packed away my overcoat and mttens!

So, I believe tonight will be another "post and pack, pack and post" night.  Although, I think I may just pack from 7:00-7:30, and leave it at that.  Thankfully, I don't need to leave for the airport until 9:00 tomorrow morning, so I'll have plenty of time for any "last minute" packing if needed.
