As for tonight's "American Idol": Meh!  Some good moments, but not enough singing. -As DR Jennifer already mentioned.

Most-played 45 rpm single for a while was The Archies and "Sugar, Sugar," then "One Bad Apple" sung by the Osmonds, then "Turn the Beat Around" by Vickie (sp?) Sue Robinson, and the last one I remember playing over and over was "Gloria" sung by Laura Branigan.

But mostly when it came to pop, I tended to buy the albums.

I would buy the cassingles (cassette singles) for a while, and my faves of those were "Higher Love," "King of Wishful Thinking" and "I Don't Have the Heart."

I think Penny Lane/ Strawberry Field Forever is the best 45 ever pressed.

As far as double sided hits are concerned the following were/are my favourites:

Elvis Presely - His Lastest Flame/Little Sister
Rick Nelson - Hello Mary lou/Travelin' Man
Buddy Holly - Peggy Sue/Every Day
Johnny Mathis - Chances Are/12th Of Never
Gene Pitney - Only Love Can Break A Heart/If I Didn't Have A Dime

DR Jennifer - I think part of the "stretching" of "American Idol" right now is due to the fact that Fox actually has some other programming right now.  ;)

So, today when I'm in my DH's car on the way to the mountain to hike, I happen to open the console between the seats. And guess what I find? A thank-you note addressed to someone in another country. Said note was given to DH to mail when he was going to work at the post office. But he said he didn't know how much postage should go on it, so he didn't mail it Oy!

I love Carla on "Top Chef" and for weeks I've been wondering who the hell it was that she  reminded me. Rosina Rubylips, voiced by Anna Russell in the 1954 HANSEL AND GRETEL!

How long ago was it supposed to be mailed?

And I just realized - along with another friend - that we actually know/knew Darla from D.C. when she was still an "actress".

I'm ready for the accountant tomorrow morning!

The church treasurer didn't know he needed to do anything for me for my income tax stuff.

If TNT's new show "Trust Me" doesn't pick-up the writing, it will be short-lived. The second installment was a grade or two below the opener.

der Brucer

The ratings fell precipitously from its premiere numbers, so it is indeed in trouble. I'm not sure it was such a good idea to try to premiere this show opposite fresh episodes of network favorites on the heavily rated Monday night lineups even with THE CLOSER as a lead-in.

I began my evening finishing the bonus features on MIRACLE AT ST. ANNA. One was a round table discussion and the other a documentary about the 92nd Infantry Division. Both OK but nothing special.

Next, I watched the second episode of MOONLIGHT from the DVD set. I remembered parts of the episode (and I remember how disappointed I initially was about how early they let Beth find out about Nick.) I didn't remember how the episode ended, so that was exciting.
