Trying to decide if I want to go to MILK or wait for the DVD.  Tonight is the last night it's here, so if I go it's got to be now.

Great news from OZ and big hug to DR Tomovoz! I hope the heat lets up there, though.

Tom, my little French boy was there over New Years and loved it, but said it was quite hot then, too.

Your little French boy is a hottie!

T.O.D.

I am sure that I have told this story before, but back when I was a travel agent, SAS sent their top selling agency reps for a wonderful weekend in Denmark.  The day we arrived we were driven out into the countryside, where we stayed in a 12th century castle (Yes, it was haunted).  That evening we were served Babette's Feast.  The food, the wine, the castle dining room all combined to make it an incredible evening.

I have had many great meals in my day, and it would be most difficult to pick a single best...but here are some of the best...any meal I have had at the Al-Karawi home where I tend to stuff myself silly because everything is soooooo delicious!....both meals that I have had at DR FJL's home, his hubby is rather handy in the kitchen!...a meal at a very fancy restaurant in Tokyo, had blackened mud-fish which cost me about $65.00US...and worth every delectable yen!

Was it supposed to be blackened, or did they just forget to wash it?

Do I get a sparkling prize for correctly guessing the new Kritzerland release?  Like, f'rinstance, a copy of the new Kritzerland release?  ;)

Can't wait to hear what the soundtrack is.

Ooooh, oooh!  I'm going to guess--it's something I mentioned before, but BK said FSM had UA sewn up.  However, ANYA was a UA release, so hopefully the soundtrack will be the most delicious Fred Karlin score for UP THE DOWN STAIRCASE.

I've written eight pages and am done for the evening, I think.  I'm now listening to CDs.  I suppose I'll watch a motion picture later tonight, but I have no idea what.

And speaking of TV shows...

Just started watching "Grey's Anatomy"... And it looks like almost all the guest stars for tonight's episode were cast out of New York City. :)

So our four LACCTAA events are, I think, booked - one of them is still tentative because we're still trying to work out the date and time so it works for everyone.  They are:

An Afternoon with David Lee (creator of Frazier)

A Cabaret/Singer workshop with me (in conjunction with Cabaret West)

An Afternoon With Jeff Greenberg (casting director for Frazier, Eli Stone, Ugly Betty - he, of course, got his SAG card by appearing in The First Nudie Musical).

Our final event for the first half of the year would be An Afternoon With Jason Robert Brown and Georgia Stitt.  That's the one that's iffy right now - trying desperately to work out the details - they want to do it but are really busy, so the window is very strict in terms of the date and time.  We shall see.  But I'm very pleased with the events.

bk - Could you possibly make the JRB event a co-production with USC?  -Since he's on staff there right now.  (Isn't he?)

And speaking of line-ups...

I just got the newsletter for the upcoming SETC conference in Birmingham, AL.  The three keynote speakers this year are:

Casting Director, David Shaul
Tony-Award Winning Actress, Beth Leavel
and
Tony-Award Winning Set Designer, Eugene Lee

If there was ever a year that I wish I could take a break from my piano-playing duties in order to attend the presentations, this would be it.

SPOO!!!!

DR Laura - I just realized I cut and pasted the same link.  -Sorry.  See the corrected post above.

*However, the carpets in the walkways (I can't recall the proper name for them right now) were the same at both airports.  Alas, since I did not want to get trampled, I was not able to take a pic of said carpets. ;)

As for the Topic of the Day...

The seven or eight (or nine?) course meal that Steve and I most thoroughly enjoyed at Victoria & Albert's in the Grand Floridian Resort in Disneyworld.  I had snagged one of the Chef's Table seatings, and it was just Steve and I seated at a table with full access and view of the kitchen.  Champagne started off the meal, and there were wine pairings served with each course too.  And our four(!) desserts were accompanied by a coffee made at the table in vacuum pot.

I still have to souvenir menu from the evening, and I still need to post the complete menu one of these days.

*I've had the good fortune to have dined at Per Se in New York city twice.  Even though those meals have been wonderful "events", I'm usually distracted by all the formality of the service - no matter how discreet and almost telepathic it is.  I also tend to prefer a standard three or four course meal, not a tasting menu of 11-20 small plates.
