***COURT VIBES***
for DR Cillaliz today!!!!!

Thanks DR Daw!!  I'm up and am about to start getting ready to go. It's rainy and in the upper 30s/lower 40s so I'll  probably take the skyway instead of walking on the street. It's a bout 5 blocks farther that way, but I won't need a coat and won't get wet.  I can always walk back outside if I want to.

This Skyway sounds very cool.... I shall have to google it

DR Vixmom, it's like the skywalk in Sioux City.  They have them in lots of cities in the upper midwest.  Many of the downtown buildings are connected by walkways that are usually on the first floor above ground level.  They cross streets and go through the buildings.  St. Paul claims to have the longest skyway in the world or something.  Sometimes you have to go 7 blocks to go 2 blocks, so it's not the quickest, but it can be the warmest and dryest.

Here I am Deb. Since Anthony is in Wisconsin I've taken the luxury of eating breakfast at home instead of coming to the office. I was on line very much earlier so you missed me. When Anthony returns in April I will go back to the office to have breakfast and surf on line.

Here are some articles on

The Skyway System

More Skyway Information

When you work in Downtown Minneapolis (or Saint Paul) it certainly makes it easier to get around in the winter OR the summer (it can get very muggy and warm in the Twin Cities). The Skyways are climate controlled so you can, if you choose, walk around in shorts in the middle of a snowstorm.

The closest thing we have to that here is a the "Unispan" an enclosed bridge that spans a 6 lane highway and  connects the North and South campuses of the university  where DR WFO is a math professor.

I spent my first ten years on East 14th Street between Avenue H and Avenue I, and went to the Yeshivah of Flatbush for ten years (from third grade through the end of high school).

In our yearbook, the photos of the principals and assistant principals were doctored with leather jackets and the caption was "The Lords of Flatbush."

Still having these crummy nights - as the sun comes up I feel better.  I do not understand this.  What possible connection can there be to the daylight and my salvitory glands?

Good morning, all! I have an editing day. My barber is sick, so I will call again today about a barber appointment.

DR vixmom, I suspect your health problems have something to do with the phases of the moon and ocean cycles, but it's too scientific for my feeble mind to explain.

TOD: my love life has always been depressing and I refuse to relive it until the memoirs.

Yes, Anthony is safe and sound in Fort Atkinson. He began rehearsals yesterday. For the first two weeks he's staying at a small hotel. The cast housing is full with the current show's cast and crew. He will move into cast housing a couple of days before the show opens. Right now he has complimentary breakfast, a pool, a hot tub, a sauna and a small gym area. The people from the hotel remember him and he's very happy to be back in Wisconsin.

I wasn't sure whether to brave posting this link to a video just finalized last night, but the coincidence of the notes being about Flatbush and Brooklyn made me say what-the-heck.

It's a video (including photo montage) of my song "Brooklyn Boy" whence came the moniker BklynBoy, a simple piano demo that I sang here in the apartment - and the last part winds up in Flatbush.  It's sung by a highly opinionated character in the show it was written for, so opinions about other places in New York reflect the character's biases, not mine.  :)

It's not a parody, though, but I hope it brings a smile - we've put a couple of other non-parody songs of mine up over the past few days.

(Thanks as always to Jose's roommate Jim for making the video/photo components come together.)

Thanks to Classmates.com I've reconnected with a friend from grades 1-12, now retired from the faculty of the U of Massachusetts, whom I've not seen in 44 years. The most bizarre thing: he and his wife are now living at 86th Street and West End Avenue, four blocks from me.

Last night, I met a friend from the Cast Recording List for drinks at an Irish pub on 86th Street at 6 pm. The place was empty but by 8:30, the bar was packed with too many noisy drunks - ourselves excluded - and too loud music. I was happy to be home in time for THE CLOSER.

Yes, BIG BANG THEORY was at 9:30 last night, I hope my post didn't cause anyone to miss it!
