Good morning, all!

I have nothing new to report this morning. DR Jose and I had spoken about seeing THE SEARCHERS today, but I've got a lot of BABES edits and PAL JOEY this evening, so I'll get to work now and talk to him when he's up and about.

I caught the last half of THE CLOSER last night; I had missed it on Monday by having dinner with John McGlinn's sister, Lorin. I thought Amy Sedaris was a hoot and I laughed through a lot of the episode.

TOD:
DVD: Still those blasted Netflix items!
CD:  Lehman Engel's Broadway Overtures, the Boswell Sisters, Dorothy Provine
VCR: something that might be home movies if you lived on Tobacco Road

DR DAW, I have had whiplash and as Der Brucer said it often doesn't show up until the next day.  Vibes that you do not have it, as it's really unpleasant~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And it was nice to get a full night's sleep.  I think.

As for DR singdaw/DAW - I did receive another email from him during the wee hours of the morning - well, the "wee hours" for me.  He said he woke up feeling fine, and that he was about to head to the train station. :)

I'm still dismayed by the number of bad reviews THE STORY OF MY LIFE got. I thought it was a sweet show with a good score that deserved better.

The delivery of my score for the new edition of Offenbach's Les fees du Rhin just arrived!

DR Jose, when you're awake, call me.

I got your note after we talked! So we're off for the movie, which is fine with me, even though I'd love to see THE SEARCHERS on a big screen again. I lament the passing of all the revival movies houses in Manhattan with the development of the videocassette and DVD. When I moved here in 1979, I could go to the Carnegie Hall Cinema, where I saw revivals of PSYCHO, GIGI, Laurence Olivier's THE BEGGAR'S OPERA, and others; the Mark 4, where I saw Bob Hope's THE CAT AND THE CANARY; the Regency, where I saw MUSIC IN THE AIR and THE CAT AND THE FIDDLE; the Thalia, where I saw most of John Waters' early films and a lot of Pasolini and others. I miss all of that.

DAW, since it sounds like you were hit from behind, two words:  SUE THE BASTARD.  OK, so that's three words, but you get the drift.  :)

I'm sure Cillaliz might have some more scholarly advice, but my recommendation is hie thee to a doctor today, whether or not you feel "fine."  That way you're setting the foundation for your untold millions of newfound lawsuit wealth.

THE BURRO OF BROOKLYN, a synopsis - A kid from Mexico anticipates his trip to NYC because all his life he's heard from relatives about the Magical Burro of Brooklyn.  He gets on the train, and keeps searching for the Burro, only to come to learn that it's a borough, not a burro, and that Brooklyn truly is magical.

Since the other party was likely UNinsured, I'm not certain what suing him would accomplish.   Perhaps, however, he can work out something in the way of "indentured labor" for so many hours.  DAW would have his own manservant.

...I was suddenly rammed, quite hard, from the rear...

...was NOT a euphemism!

I managed to stay awake until almost 10 PM then I snuggled down in the recliner and dozed off. I woke up coughing  a few times during the night but managed to get right back to sleep again each time.  I finally woke up around 5:30 AM feeling rested so I got up and made Vixdad's lunch.

Hopefully I will have another good day and night....

Wonderful news :)  CONTINUED VIBES EACH NIGHT FORWARD IS MORE RESTFUL!

This reminds me of one my family's favorite stories about when my parents moved to Utah right after WWII.  They moved to a tiny town south of SLC, and one of the (obviously Mormon) men came over, introduced himself to my Dad, and told him that the guys all got together at the "Stake House" (a Mormon church), so my Dad should come over.  Of course, my Dad thought the guy said "Steak House" and spent an hour or so driving the one main street of American Fork, UT looking for the correct cafe.   ;D

Btw, re: Vixmom's wedding dilemna.

People keep mentioning the age difference. What age difference? She said the bride is maybe 10 years younger in her 40s and that the other bridesmaids are the same age.

If this is true we are not talking 20 year olds and vixmom.

DR cillaliz re: addison being on Grey's and Private Practice last night. I don't really consider what they did last night a cross-over. The week before was a cross-over. But last night it was just addison on Grey's. So i barely watched it. Although i did see Private Practice.
