just so there's no mistake about it, this is still what most of the area looks like, You see steps going to nowhere and there were no empty lots before and now it's almost all empty lots. But, they are making progress.  They still need lots of help, but changes are happening and there is a lot of construction going on

Good Evening!

Greetings from the bus.

-I'm just hoping that the guys who just boarded - and who obviously have just smoked some reefer -end up passing out. Soon.

*On the bright side(?), I'm glad I got here early. The bus is not supposed to leave for another 20 minutes, and it's already filled up. Which also means we'll be leaving early too. -And the bus driver just announced that he won't be stopping in DC or Baltimore, so there's a good chance I'll be back in NYC around 6:00am.

This is the last one I'll post.  there are lots and lots of empty gutted houses like this one.  The markings are still on them from the searches.  On this house you can see the Xs on the left is the groups number that searched, on the top is the date and on the bottom is the number of bodies (0).   Also on this house you see f/w. that's the spca's marking for food and water. It's hard to see in the photo, but it also says 2 dogs.  They were providing food and water for 2 dogs in this house until they could rescue them

Anyway, the tour really was upbeat about the changes and the wonderful help that's been coming in from all over the country.  The attitude is hopeful, but there is still so much to be done and they don't want people to think the recovery is over.  It isn't.

I went to Amoeba earlier - just to look around and relax - it was just the ticket.
