I am on a Charles Dickens kick.

What are you reading right now?

I'm looking for a good biography of Dickens.  Any suggestions?

Someplace around here is a pretty decent one, if only I could find it.  The problem with reading an autobiography about Dickens is that Dickens didn't write it.

Poor Danise. I guess she didn't say if he is doing any work at all, did she?

She didn't say.

Tonight I will begin reading a new book, a very short book.  Which means I will shortly be out of something to read.  I went on line to our library & placed a hold on three books, included is PEOPLE OF THE BOOK which was highly recommended by DR Ginny,

Ginny, you never said what the rest of your group thought about the book.

I discovered if you put a hold on a book they hold it near the front desk with your name on it.  All I have to do is walk in, easily find the book & then self check out.  If I can find parking it shouldn't take more than 5 minutes.

DR Jane have you tried to read either THE MIDDLE PLACE or THE HOTEL AT BITTER AND SWEET?
Borders is (literally) pushing both of these books down buyers' necks! (Our store is 'required' 11 copies of THE MIDDLE PLACE every week through the middle of April).

When we lived in SLC, my mother's rather clever name for the liquor store was The Fifth Ward (Mormons will both get this and be simultaneously aghast).   ;D

I think the title, HOTEL AT BITTER AND SWEET, is beautiful. I hadn't heard about either book.

I've been sending out Facebook messages which, to my dismay, you can only do twenty at a time.  I made a list of all the LA Facebook friends - 209 people and tried to do a mass message - twenty at a time, which means I totally wasted my time making the list.  It's really annoying.  I've done about 120 of the names now, in batches of twenty, but it's a real pain in the ASS, I must say.  Also, I tried to type "groups" in the search box, thinking it would, as Jose said, give me directions on starting a Kritzerland Fan Group - it didn't.  If anyone can help me through that, let me know.

DR td are the books selling well?  They seem to be popular at our library.  Middle has 13 holds while Bittersweet has a whopping 22 holds on the 13 books already checked out.

Mae-Ling and Wae-Ling showed me the marks from their seat belts sustained in their automobile accident last night. Poor kids. I am sure the seat belts kept them from more serious injuries, though.

Good afternoon!  It's a beautiful day here. I have the windows open a little. The cats love that.
Today I went shopping, since none of my clothes fit me, and was shocked to see what I can fit in.
I didn't buy much, since I still have 25 pounds to go, but boy, do I look smaller in the right size than in the too big clothes I've been wearing

It really is amazing just how much better and "smaller" you can look in the proper fitting clothes.  In fact, one of the reasons I wanted to buy a pair of new jeans today - besides taking advantage of the special discount and gift card - was because I needed a better-fitting, smaller pair of jeans too.  It's nice being (back) in that range of waist sizes where they are sized by the inch instead of every two-inches. :)

Congrats DR Jose!

Are the marks down low where they should be & not across their bellies?

And the word of the day is: VELLEITY!
Tom Wolfe at one point planned to write a book to be titled Bonfire of the Velleities, but the whole thing turned out to be just a pipe dream.

I've skimmed bits, but I've got too many other books going at the moment.       :P
