Bruce the artwork is fun, except I had to take a double take to see what her hand is doing.  I suggest moving it to one side or the other.

This Nudie art is not in any way final or even close to what it may end up being - it's really JUST for the LA Fest website, really.

I am really behind and there's no way to catch up, at least today.  I have to do these Illya liner notes - but I also have to finish the David Lee questions.  I'll probably end up doing the Illya notes tomorrow afternoon and evening, because Sunday is now booked with mixing the Nudie demo.

Perhaps in tomorrow's notes MR BK can tell us all about The Bishop's Company and the summer of 1967 when he and a couple of friends toured churches all over the country presenting "Do You Know the Milky Way?"

I'm going to hop off-line and now and get some writing done. Then back downstairs to complete the rest of the DANTON special features.

Fellow DR Oregonians.  I received the following from the Humane Society & plan to call Peter Buckley, my state Representative today:

Just last week, HSUS participated in a raid of a puppy mill facility near Burns, Oregon, where over 200 dogs were found in horrific conditions. Puppy mills are breeding facilities that mass-produce puppies for sale in pet stores, over the Internet, and directly to the public. Dogs are treated like cash crops, constantly bred and kept in continuous confinement and horrible conditions.

This raid highlights the need for legislation in Oregon to crack down on the worst abuses at large-scale puppy mills. Fortunately, the Oregon state legislature is considering the Oregon Puppy Protection Act (H.B. 2470) -- and a House committee will hold a hearing on H.B. 2470 on Monday, March 30!

Those who support puppy mills are working around the clock to protect this industry, and they will be at the hearing in full force. It is critical that your state representative hear from constituents who support this legislation.

TAKE ACTION

When you call, you will likely speak to a staff member who will pass your message along to your legislator. Remember to be polite and professional, and leave your name and address so it is clear that you are a constituent. You can say:

"Hello, my name is [your name] and I am calling from [your town] to thank Representative Buckley for sponsoring H.B. 2470, legislation to crack down on puppy mills. As a constituent, I am very concerned about large scale breeding and the inhumane treatment of dogs in puppy mills. Thank you."

Thank you for all you do for animals.

Sincerely,

Mike Markarian
Executive President

Jane, didn't you see that on the news or in this morning's Oregonian?  There was an adorable picture of a little Golden puppy named Buttercup that had just been adopted.  If we didn't already have two dogs, we'd be getting one.

I don't watch the news or read the Oregonian.  I get mine directly by email from the Humane Society or from Best Friends.

Buttercup sounds sweet.  There isn't anymore room on our bed for another pet, even a cat.  Sherlock is an interesting dog-lol.

Did you call your representative?

They're not listed on the LP, which is why I didn't include them - if anyone has a Playbill, they'd be listed there, I'm sure.

HERE is a scan of the original album, but it only lists the characters.  But THIS is the Internet Broadway Database listing, although it says, "The credits for this production have not yet been completed or verified." :-\

Just in from DR Danise:

Things have changed somewhat.  A friend at work has decided that I can live with her and her husband with Sheena.  She has a nice fenced in yard and has been thinking about getting a dog.  She said this will give them a chance to see if they really want to get one and help me at the same time.

I am so grateful.  I am moving out of Thelmas tonight and will get Sheena tomorrow.

Also, I called the Consumer Protection office to find out the status of my case.  I found out I have been assigned a case manager and he will be contacting me by next Tuesday.  Cross your fingers and BIG vibes he can help me.

Will I never step off of this merry go round?

I think I have a crush on Jean-Paul Belmondo.     :)

I just looked him up on IMDb and I didn't know that he was still alive.  And he's younger than Sondheim (almost a South Pacific reference ;)).

Well, bk, I like it.

LOVE the new blurb line.

Would it be less awkward (less of a mouthful) if you eliminated the word "sensation"?

I would keep it and say, "Based on The Classic Hit Cult Film Sensation!"  But I would have it right justified and on two lines so that it's out of the way of the foot, like this:

Based on the Classic Hit
Cult Film Sensation!

[Hello, DR William F Orr! How are you and Joe doing?

Hi, elmore, and not bad = me.  A bit worse = Joe.  He has been hit with more medical problems in the last year and is very chagrinned at loss of time, activity, and productivity.  And said he is very upset I haven't been posting on hhw, and so here I am.
