I am taking the day off today. I have some special DVDs and Blu-rays I want to watch, and I also still have some shows on the DVR (FLASHPOINT, HARPER'S ISLAND) that need to be watched and cleared off leaving room for others.

So, I'm looking forward to enjoying my Saturday without a notepad in my lap and a pen in my hand.

DH Richard has officially recruited me to his daily walking regimen - short walks around the neighborhood several times a day.  I joined him last night and this morning and I'm already feeling it in my legs - in a good way.  Now, where do you suppose I put that pedometer?

*** Vixmom News ***

I just talked to the vixter.  vixdad is at the hospital.  Debby may come home today (and do Dallas?).  She is up, alert, but still not eating solid food.  The operation was done the easy way without a big incision and seems to have gone swimmingly.

Favorite R and H is FLOWER DRUM SONG. This was one of my favorite musicals as a small child, and I love it even today.

It is difficult to pick a favorite song, however...but I will go for Grant Ave. from FLOWER DRUM SONG.

DR Sam are the Wolf spider’s biting you?  I’m shocked you have them.  We had them in our first Michigan house, scary looking things.  Craig & I caught them & put them outside.  Bryan who was our official mouse catcher & release person would not go near them.  For awhile he wouldn’t sleep in his bedroom since that was their room of choice, not that I blame him.  I found a Black Widow in my bedroom when I was young slept in my brother’s room that night.

Glad to see the love for Love, Look Away, which has always been and always will be my favorite R&H song, which is why I insisted that my close personal friend, Mr. Guy Haines, sing it.

And I'd have to say that my favorite R&H shows to listen to have always been Flower Drum Song and The Sound Of Music.  I do love The King and I, Carousel, and to a lesser extent, Oklahoma.

T.O.D.

I, too, would have to pick CAROUSEL as my favorite R & H musical.  I love the film.  The show always makes me cry.

Favorite song:  IF I LOVED YOU

OKLAHOMA (the musical, not the state) could fall off the edge of the planet and I would never miss it.  I guess I have just seen too many productions of that show.

TOD

My favorite show is The King and I.

My favorite score to listen to is South Pacific

My favorite songs is You'll Never Walk Alone from Carousel

Sometimes when I listen to an R & H score I like to "mix & match" Take cuts from various recordings and make my own cast album.

ie:  South Pacific: I like Ezio Pinza the best as Emile so I would use his solos. For his duets with Nellie I use the soundtrack.

I spread by Bloody Mary recordings out amoung Juatina Hall, Pat Suziki & Muriel Smith.

I like Sean McDermott for Cable

and for the fun of it I like Alec Baldwin for Billis

and Julie Andrews as Liat

Where did Sean do SOUTH PACIFIC?

I am trying to use this "down time" to de-clutter my house - and my life.  I need to simplify, simplify, simplify.
