Good Morning! Good Afternoon!

I'm up, I'm up... And it's a strangely cool first day of summer here in NYC.  When I woke up a few hours ago, it was 62 degrees and gray, and it's only supposed to get up to 70 - and still gray. And drizzly. And rainy.  Ah, well...

Well, last night's tech cue-to-cue took four hours. :-\ We got through it, but it was long.

Well, DR George, if you were working with an Equity company, your cue-to-cue would have taken the full ten hours of the "10 out of 12", so... Consider yourself lucky.

The rain woke me up this morning.  The sun has begun to shine however it should only reach 61 degrees today.  I think we are staying home.

As for the original(!) cast recording of West Side Story...

(And I think I may have told this story before, but...)

I still remember listening to the OCR - the record/LP/vinyl - of West Side Story over at a friend's house in high school.  Both of his parents made pretty good money, and they had very nice house, and a very nice HiFi set-up.  He put on West Side Story, and I still remember being able to hear - and see! - the Jets running upstage and downstage, left and right during "The Jet Song"... The Sharks on their side of the gym, the Jets on theirs during "Mambo"... And Maria singing up on her balcony, and Tony starting off in the street and the climbing up to join her... And the "Quintet" was practically dizzying!

I thought they had recorded the show in the theatre - complete with blocking.  Of course, that was not the case.  It really was Magic.

I'm also thinking of staying put today too.  It's not raining right now, but it's still gray and overcast right now.  At least if I stay inside, I can't really see the gray.

Hmmm... I think the one in the middle does.  Although, the one of the left does have DR MBarnum's shiny forehead.

It's Westminster Cathedral in London, just down the street from Westminster Abbey.  Which makes those "Fathers" Roman Catholic.

Yes. Soan and his family came in yesterday to take some measurements, and they dropped of a few things earlier this morning. Apparently, an IKEA truck will be coming by tomorrow to drop off some more stuff.

...I'm watching the P.O.V. program "Tony Kushner: Wrestling with Angels" and they're showing clips from the Public Theatre run of Caroline, or Change... I remember seeing that show down at The Public... Anika Noni Rose was so much "younger" then... And it's nice to see that there is some footage of Tonya Pinkins performance before she moved uptown and ragged out her voice.

AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!  "Eli Stone" didn't record! >:( I checked my DVR before I left my house this morning and it was set!  AND the series recording is still set to record the other episodes.  I know I can watch it on-line, but I was going to record the last three episodes for a couple of friends, for whom I also recorded "Pushing Daisies."

Did anyone record last night's "Eli Stone?" :-\

DR George i'm sorry Eli stone didn't record. I wish i had a way to burn you a copy. But i'm sure somebody will
have recorded it.

Damn! I wish I could help you, DR George, but I forgot to record it myself. Ah, well, I'll have to wait for the inevitable DVD set to see it. Now that I missed that episode, I likely won't watch the other two either and will just wait for the DVDs.

Thanks, but it turns out that I wasn't such a goon, after all!  I (forgot that I) had set BOTH of my DVRs to record "Eli Stone" and my non-hi-def DVR did record it, so all is right with the world. ;D

I do!  One of the women in the show talked about a show that she was in where the cue-to-cue took seven hours for EACH act on two different days!  So, we got through it last night without too much trouble. :)

This might possibly be more a Mother's day than a Father's Day type song, but still it's about celebrating the infinite possibilities in a child, and the video has lots of father of all shapes and heights in it.

It's a lullaby Skip wrote with lyricist David Spencer (David being of note for Weird Romance and the Duddy Kravitz musical), sung by BK-co-star-at-NYMF-readings Maureen Silliman and Jane Seaman

And now, I need to take a shower, get dressed in my new "Romeo & Juliet" t-shirt (and other necessary clothes ;)) and head downtown to try and drum up business for the show!  After that, I'm off to my parents for Father's Day, and then it'll be time for rehearsal!

Have a good day, all!

BK-

In Your Opinion wasn't Kate Winslet's performance in REVOLUTIONARY ROAD more deserving of an Oscar than THE READER. I think so!

And Then I just realized that you never got past the vomiting scene.

By The Way,I thought that The READER was an awful film.

I thought the same thing DR ArnoldMBrockman.  But since the Academy doesn't allow actor's to compete against themselves.. Or is that the Golden Globes... In any case...

I did think her performance in "Revolutionary Road" was better than her performance in "The Reader".  -And, even though I liked "The Reader", I thought the first half - even with the vomiting - was a bit too purposely slow-paced for my tastes. And I still am "upset" that the previews showed parts of the scenes with Lena Olin.

*Of course, the real omission was Leonardo di Caprio not getting an Oscar nom for "Revolutionary Road".

Back from an extra-long jog - about five miles.  I don't know why, really, but I decided at the two mile juncture to switch up my route, and I ran all the way down to Ventura Blvd, which is about 3/4 of a mile and then home from there.

I feel I deserve something fun to eat and shall now figure out what that might be.  I've been watching Zorro episodes - I got a five-volume set, which I guess is a Disney Club exclusive, but nowhere on the box does it say these episodes are colorized - they're horrible-looking, but I really like the show and Guy Williams is the best Zorro ever.
