I watched the rest of the bonus features. The gag reel (some of it very funny) was over 10 minutes long, very lengthy for a blooper reel.

There was a silly BOOM NOTICE featurette parodying the show with the sound equipment guys.

When I finished my work project, I watched one of the two movies I'd recorded over the last few days off TCM: A ROYAL SCANDAL with Tallulah Bankhead.

I had never seen this movie, and it was much more entertaining than legend has it. William Eythe is VERY good in it, and Tallu is faboo! And those costumes she has for the film: knockouts!

Next I skimmed through today's THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS. Still the "old" Adam.

Next, I watched Monday night's MY LIFE ON THE D-LIST. Paula Dean was the guest star in the second half of the show. Funny episode with lots of Paula's downhome cooking that looked delicious but heart-attack inducing.

Favorite Food Network quote:  "I have to cut my heart real thin to make it tender" - sounds like a possible Food Network Master chef theme song

The other show off TCM I recorded was THE STUDENT PRINCE OF OLD HEILDELBURG, the 1927 silent feature with Ramon Navarro and Norma Shearer. I've never seen this, and I'm hoping I have time tomorrow night to get to it (along with the new BURN NOTICE, of course).

My laptop is now also unable to connect to our new wireless network.

I think it's a conspiracy!

That is exactly what happened shortly after I went wireless...! If you figure out what went wrong, let me know!

For DRs having wireless connection issues:

Can you tell if your laptop/iTouch/etc. is able to find the signal/hub/router?

Was there a software update, and do you now have to reconfigure your peripherals?

DR DAW - Did you run the 3.0 update?

Etc., etc., etc.

You can PM or email me if you'd like some help. Possibly.

DR MattH, as much as I like The Young & The Restless, it is just average right now. I know you were interested in the new gay storyline. But i don't think that will be coming up for a while (my guess is with either nina's son phillip or her non-dead husband phillip).

The actor who plays adam is changing this week (which sucks to me), but the story that involves him and a gay kiss is most likely only a heterosexual gay trying to prey on his gay lawyer. Not sure if that interests you.

A "heterosexual gay"?  ???

I have met a lot of those.

And that's supposed to be news to us, DR MBarnum?

As for the Academy increasing the number of nominees to ten, well...

I just have to wonder how that will affect the other races - especially the actor, actress and director races.  Just seems like it would put more focus on the "overlooked" nominees.

I'm also wondering if the move is to help movies that come out earlier in the year - that the Academy tends to forget - as well as more smaller and indie films.

Well, next time, just have it twice a week.  That should fix it.

Something from the Twitterverse:

How can I test if my son is gay?

*The question may be stupid, but the answer is priceless - and a bit crude, but still funny (imho).

When I went out earlier, I popped back into MoMA for a quick visit - as well as a bite to eat - and came across "Waste Not" in the Atrium:

"Beijing-based artist Song Dong (b. 1966) explores notions of transience and impermanence with installations that combine aspects of performance, video, photography, and sculpture. Projects 90, his first solo U.S. museum show, presents his recent work Waste Not. A collaboration first conceived of with the artist's mother, the installation consists of the complete contents of her home, amassed over fifty years during which the Chinese concept of wu jin qi yong, or "waste not," was a prerequisite for survival. The assembled materials, ranging from pots and basins to blankets, oil flasks, and legless dolls, form a miniature cityscape that viewers can navigate around and through."

-And the contents of the house also include the frame of the house!  I took a few pictures, but I believe the online exhibition will better serve the Art: Projects 90: Song Dong

*One of the first things that came to my mind was that I could sort of duplicate that installation simply by unpacking all the boxes in my room. ::)

Thanks very much for your kind offer, DR JoseSPiano.  But yesterday the Verizon tech wired in remotely and mucked about for around an hour to get it working.  Whatever they did to get it working apparently didn't carry over to today.  Sometimes the laptop "sees" the wireless router, and sometimes it doesn't.  I think I'll just call Verizon again; I wouldn't impose on you that much.  But thanks very much indeed for your offer!

I think we'll have spaghetti for dinner tonight at our house.
