Yes, bk, the HARRY POTTER films get increasingly darker with each one. They also get more familiar and enjoyable with repeat screenings. They're densely packed with information that isn't always easy to assimilate on the first go-round. I was still noticing aspects of THE GOIBLET OF FIRE that I didn't pick up after two visits to the theater and a DVD screening, too.

One of these days I'm going to record the noise these creeps are making - and I'll put it on the Internet for you to hear and you will not believe it, just as I cannot believe it every morning at seven.  And then I will play back the recording at ear-splitting levels as soon as these people move in to their new home after having spent all this time elsewhere in a quiet neighborhood.

Today's work project is another Blu-ray; this time it's INKHEART, a Brendan Fraser fantasy film that must not have made five cents at the box-office. Frankly, I had never heard of it, but the fantasy element of it intrigued me, so I asked to get to review it.

Too many Restoration plays, I fear and I blame myself.

Think Lucy Van Pelt (and not the Fred Landau version  ;))

That one has been a favorite since I first read it....which was late 1960s, IIRC.

For those who don't get it:  Someone is telling Lucy something she has no interest in, and the quote is her reply.

I've used it myself on occasion....and it has never once registered with the other person.

It never rains but it pours!

I've liked this one ever since I grokked its meaning...applicable to so many situations....such as BK's recent encounters with vehicular transgressions.

And, apropos my last one, we have the Morton Salt slogan:

"When it rains, it pours!"

Meaning, of course, that Morton Salt resists humidity.

I haven't seen that show in a long time.

That's from a show??     ???

You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown

I think Schroeder is telling Patty something complex, and she looks at him intently and nods. Then when he finishes, she says, "We had spaghetti three (or four) times at our house this week."

I use it when people say things over my head. Which is often.

"It went straight to my liver."

My friend's aunt used to say this about food that gave her heartburn. People tried over and over to explain that food doesn't go to one's liver. She said it anyway. And I use it now, too.
