Tomorrow I will go to the PrideFest for a while. A friend will be at the booth with people working for the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell.

I was also productive checkbook-wise. I'm all caught up in Money and my checkbook balances.

After we come back from Long Island I will be cancelling cable. We have had the digital converter box hooked up for two weeks and are quite happy with the reception. It can be problematic with some channels if the weather is bad but even with rain we have good reception and all the broadcast channels including Channel 13. We have a weather channel. New York One is nice but I'll live without On Stage and I can watch all the CUNY Working in the Theatre programs on line. In the future we may get Channel 21 (another PBS station from Long Island) if the power boost request they made comes through but if not, so be it.

$25 X 12 = $300

Ugh!

It was 88 here at 11:30 this morning. I have no idea the temp now, but it looks awful outside. I just about roasted when I opened the door to get the mail.

I started watching FLASHPOINT while I began eating lunch. About 7 or 8 minutes into the show, I realized I had seen it before, so I guess I have now arrived at the point in the season where I began watching the shows for the first time. So, I stopped watching and deleted it.

Hello, Dear François. It's good to see your name here.

On July 31st there will be a special Friday Night is Music Night with Russell Davies and Lorna Luft. They will be saluting the 70th Anniversary of Wizard of Oz and also spending time on Judy's career.

Humm ... and I'll be away from any internet connection to the radio show on that dtae!! Story of my life!

Thank you for the info: I like Lorna Luft. She's fun!

There was a special theater tribute to Judy here, on the day of her passing but ... I was away too!

Lots of French stage performers honoring the lady.

Instead, I watched Thursday night's edition of THE FASHION SHOW. It was a tricky week for the designers. They were assigned a famous classic designer to do an homage outfit in honor of. The problem for one of the designers was that he wasn't the least bit familiar with Halston, and did a dress that was totally NOT Halston and almost got eliminated.

I agreed that for someone with his talent, it wasn't really fair to eliminate him due to his ignorance of a designer's style. (The girl who got sent home was completely familiar with Yves Saint Laurent's style and messed up her design royally.) This was a week I think they did the right thing eliminating whom they did.

I was completely correct to not try to watch an entire movie this afternoon as there were two phone calls of lengthy duration.

I will try to record it for you. No promises, based on my failure to record the Disney special over the holidays, but I'll try. I'm too busy for my own good (I know, at leas I have a job) so many nights it's come home, eat dinner with Anthony and go to bed early. I'm looking forward to the show so that may make it easier to remember.

So, I started with the bonus features of SPACEBALLS. It began with a "making of" documentary that was 30 minutes long. This was done in 2005 looking back on the making of the movie, so people like John Candy were not available to be interviewed. Pretty good overview of the production process for the movie.

I also found it interesting that Mel Brooks sent George Lucas a copy of the script before they began filming to make sure George wasn't going to be offended by the potshots they were taking at STAR WARS. According to Mel, he loved it.

Then there was a conversation between Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan talking about their collaboration on the script. Unfortunately, Ronnie Graham had died so he couldn't be part of the conversation.

Then there was a 10-minute tribute to John Candy showing a clips from a couple of movies and some long ago interviews with him. Everyone from SPACEBALLS spoke very lovingly about working with him.

And I had time to flip through the three stills galleries: behind the scenes, costume designs (by Donfeld), and character portraits.

I know there are trailers and a gag reel that I haven't gotten to yet. Not sure how much else is on the disc.

All of the bonus material was in 480i, so I'm eager to see what the movie looks like in 1080p. Haven't seen any of it in HD yet.

DR Matt H, good luck getting your reviews posted!

Thank you, DR Jane. I feel sure things will improve once the site goes "live," but if it doesn't, I know there will be friends there to help me.

I have been watching the Barbara Walters Farrah Fawcett special (why I have no idea).  Part 1, 2, 3 & 4 and more: http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=7931205

This goes on and on, guess it was a full hour.  I can’t watch anymore.  The first part is old clips and interviews.  Mostly this is just a tear jerker without much insight.

Beverley just played my review of the Tonys. I'll send out the e-mail blast to those of you on the list giving you specifics.

Believe it or not, I am actually working on the next version of the CD. I'm a bit behind but I hope by mid-Summer to have it in the hands of those who want it, you know who you are :)

My very own Mac genius (DS Rob) has successfully transferred my workout tape from a 1980 cassette to my iTunes library and to my iPod.

I realize the link I posted begins with the girl who never ages, actually a strange story of a 16 year old girl who looks like a toddler.  The BW special follows or you can click on the link to skip the story of the girl.

I'm at work now and have caught up with all of yesterday's posts, but not today's posts...I did, however, read BK's notes and will have to think about the Topic of the Day.

Last night's "Romeo & Juliet" was almost exactly three hours long (about 3:05)!  We're picking up the pace and shortening it each day!  After last night's performance, we had a cast party at Lady Montague's house.  I left at about 2:00 a.m., and was one of the first to leave. ::) I don't doubt that it went on for at least a couple more hours.  Tonight, we're having ANOTHER cast party, and since I have nothing to do tomorrow, I can stay as long as I want. :D
