And how can we possibly still be on page five.

Thanks, Jose. Now, how do you do it with the bold blue words?

(I am copying these into a word document for future reference.)

I only used the bold blue words when I hyperlink to another article, not for pictures.  But I think you know that, so...

The easiest thing to do is to use the actual "reply" button - which appears at the bottom of each page of posts, right above the "Quick Reply" box.  Once you have the "Post reply" box on your screen, then all you have to do is click on the "BBC tags".  So, to set up a "bold blue" text hyperlink....

-First of all, all hyperlinks automatically show up in blue unless you select another color.

1) The first BBC tag "box" is a "B", and that is the "bold" tag.  Click on that "B".  That will bring up:

[ b ] [ /b ]  - There will be no spaces between the brackets and the "b", otherwise, it won't show up right now.

2) Then click on the little globe icon on the second row of BBC tags.  That will bring up:

[ b ] [ url ] [ /url ][ /b ] -Again, there will be no spaces.

3) Now, backspace to the first "url" tag an add an "=" sign after "url":

[ b ] [ url= ] [ /url ] [ /b ]

4) Type in the URL of the page, article, etc., that you want to link to:

[ b ] [ url=http://www.haineshisway.com ] [ /url ] [ /b]

5) Move your cursor between the brackets and type in the name of site, title of the article, "Click Here", or whatever text you would like:

[ b ] [ url=http://www.haineshisway.com ] Haines His Way [ /url] [ /b]

And that's all.  If you quote this post, you will see the actual formatting commands without the spaces for:

Haines His Way

We had another tiny bit of rain, but really I'm doubting it will even register as rainfall in the official weather service listings tomorrow.

And the rain certainly didn't cool off anything. Just made everything feel steamy. Ugh!

I began my evening watching ThE HOLLOW, another Hercule Poirot mystery. A very sad story and filled with so many liars. I did remember the murderer's identity about halfway through, so I was just rewatchng to savor the performances and nice production values. This one also had Sarah Miles and Edward Fox, among others.

DR Laura (Part 2) - "Cut and Paste" will be your friend when it comes to setting up the hyperlinks and images/pictures.  You can also "paste" the link first in the "post reply" window, then "select" (highlight) the text then hit the "B" and "WWW" icons.  You will have to adjust some brackets and still add the "=", but it should still get the job done.  And once you know how and where to place those BBC tags, you can just type them in manually in the "Quick Reply" box.

Now for pictures, all you have to do is click on the little picture icon in the second row of BBC tags - it's the second one from the left on the the bottom row:

[ img ] [ /img ] -Again, no spaces.

Then just type or "paste" the direct link to your picture between the "img" tags.  *For pics from Flickr, remember the actual image file links start with "farm", otherwise, it will link to your Flickr and not to the pic.

[ img ] http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2513/3694333822_8de0beedac.jpg [ /img ]

You can also Center the image by adding [ center ] [ /center ] around the "img" tags.

Then I watched A POCKETFUL OF RYE, the new Miss Marple on PBS last evening. Great cast including Rupert Graves, Matthew MacFadyen (whom I really liked as Mr. D'Arcy in the last movie version of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE), and Prunella Scales of all people. And, of course, Julia McKenzie as Miss Marple.

It was a basically fine rendition of the story, but I still MUCH prefer Joan Hickson's version. Julia McKenzie was fine as Miss Marple, older appearing than the previous Miss Marple, but this movie brought her into the case much earlier than in the previous Hickson version.

I noticed next week's Christie outing is MURDER IS EASY, and they're inserting Miss Marple into the plot. The original book didn't feature any of Christie's regular detectives.

CBS made a version of the book for TV in the 1980s with Bill Bixby as the person trying to discover the murderer of Helen Hayes.

I concluded my evening of viewing with tonight's THE CLOSER. A very sad story with a very, very satisfying ending.

DR Laura (Part 3) - As has been mentioned before by other DRs, if you click on "Preview" under the "Quick Reply" box, that will bring up the "full" reply box with all the formatting tags.  So you could start your post/reply in the Quick Reply box, then finish formatting it by hitting "Preview".

How does one "sneak" onstage, exactly?  I am thinking it would be rather obvious and jolting to the actors AND the audience.

I was wondering the same thing.  A friend of mine is one of the assistant stage managers for God of Carnage, I may just have to send him an email, make a phone call. ;)

And then there was this:

July 6 Performance of Toxic Avenger Canceled

...The Toxic Avenger was the victim when an audience member decided to use the stage as their own personal storage facility...

Alas, the article doesn't really do into much more detail.  And I don't feel like checking over at BroadwayWorld.com for the details. ;)

Good night!

I'm watching a real snoozefest of a motion picture - in fact, I DID snooze a couple of times, the pace is so leaden.

DR TCB - Nice book!  Were those photos taken in conjunction with the trip out to the site you took?

I got the second of my two big purchases in the mail today.  As I said before, big purchases for my aren't really major to other people, but I am a cheapskate.

Anyway, this is the new leather-bound book of Titanic photos, and personally autographed by Robert Ballard.

That is WAY COOL!!! I would consider that a big buy

Dear Cillaliz,

Please come and visit me.

;D

*Actually, maybe you should pay me a visit here in NYC.  Or at least my apartment.  The handyman prepped the walls for a new paint job about two weeks ago and said he would be back the next day to paint.  Well... :-\

DRs Laura and Cillaliz - I "learned" a bunch of those formatting commands by taking advantage of the "Preview" option.  There also seems to be a hierarchy when using multiple BBC tags.  Again, Preview comes in handy.
