Anyone having trouble listening to Al Franken without hearing the voice of the brilliant comedian?

I think the best advice I've ever gotten is to listen to what my gut is telling me rather than what others are telling me.   I wouldn't have won a lot of trials that I've won or had my business succeed as well as it has if I hadn't followed that advice

:)  I'm close to Minnesota, so I've heard him alot.  He swears he's going to be a serious senator.  I think he'd be more fun if he made it humorous

Kitty Jane has some advice: If you climb on the computer desk and knock over a stack of CDs, run away and look innocent.

I for one would LOVE to see Sen. Stuart Smalley.  :)

Back from the long jog (boy is it hot out, even at ten-fifteen when I did the jog), and then shipping a few packages and then doing some errands.  More to do later, but I've now begun crafting the lyric to what I hope will be a better song for the character of Eunice.  It's try number nine, I believe, but I do think I finally, after all these years, figured out what the song should be about.

Last night (actually, very early this morning), I came home from the show (IT'S OVER!!) and wrote a post, but my Internet connection was lost...fortunately, I had the foresight to save the post in a Word document, but I then forgot to post it after the connection came back. ::) I'll go home for lunch and repost it then.

Otherwise, it was a great ending to a good show.  I'm sorry TCB wasn't able to make it down to Olympia to see it, but there will be a next time...THE BRAIN FROM PLANET X!!!!!

I am getting good advice in the posts today.

Of course Pick Your Battles is good advice that I still follow today, and wish I had many times in the past.

A friend of mine always says, "You have to pick your battles wisely."  That's a subtle, but important distinction. :)

Rain has subsided at least for the present, and it's warm and sticky outside. The sun is shining, too, but there are still dark patches in the sky, so we may not have seen the last of the rain today.

Once again there were no UPS deliveries today, and I got no packages in the USPS mail either, so I'm enjoying another day off.

I am enjoying the free time, and it's certainly pleasant being able to pick and choose what I want to watch. I have to say, though, that I'm suffering a bit from this recent lapse of work projects. You see, I LIKE to work. Doing something like this which I love is really a gift, so when the gift is removed, even temporarily, it's throwing me a bit for a loop.

I'm sure in another week or two, I'll be up to my eyeballs in review material and wondering why I was so crazy not to enjoy the time I had off, but right now, I'm ready to go back to work.

When I got in from lunch, I watched last night's MURDER IS EASY. They've added Miss Marple into the story (in the original novel, none of Christie's regular characters served as the detective). The movie certainly isn't hurt by having Miss Marple solve the crime rather than Luke Fitzwilliam who solves it in the book (and in the CBS-TV version of the book which starred Bill Bixby as Luke), but I can't see that it was HELPED any by the addition either.

BTW, I think this is one of the easiest of all the Christie mystery novels to solve. In this case, murder really WAS easy!

Next, I watched today's THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS. Phillip finally revealed his BIG secret to the rest of the family. Adam was on hand, too, but in a plot that hasn't picked up much steam yet.

Next I scanned through ONE LIFE TO LIVE. Fish and Kyle were both on hand (not together). Lots of insinuations about a murky past for Fish without any details yet. I'm sure they're coming....

I started watching the next episode of VERONICA MARS, but only got halfway through it. It was the first season's Christmas episode with Veronica trying to solve the mystery of the stolen poker money. I do think I saw this one; I think I know who stole it, but we'll see if I'm remembering correctly when I go back downstairs.

With so many illnesses and understudies at the Palace Theatre, where WEST SIDE STORY is playing, who could blame them for changing the lyrics to "America"

(verse)

ROSALIA
Palace Theater
You lovely structure
Even your name somehow pleases
Always the musicals running
Always the sightlines truly stunning

ANITA
Palace Theater
You scary structure
Hotbed of actor diseases
Always the vents strongly blowing
Always the standby list that’s growing
And the folks uh-oh-ing
At the seats they’re buying
As they’re loudly sighing

I like the theater Belasco
That’s where the people with class go!

(the chorus)

OTHERS
I like to be at the Lyceum
OK by me at the Lyceum
So much to see at the Lyceum

ROSALIA
Don’t try to pee at the Lyceum

ANITA
I like the theater called Broadhurst

ROSALIA
Such tiny seats, lose some weight first

ANITA
Such classy dramas are booked there

ROSALIA
So many ushers who don’t care

ALL
Maybe I’ll go to the Music Box
What do you know of the Music Box
Musical show at the Music Box?

ROSALIA
Music’s a no at the Music Box

ANITA
I like the views at the O’Neill

ROSALIA
So go line up, what’s the big deal?

ANITA
I like American Airlines

ROSALIA
Follow the crowd leaving Carmine’s

(big dance finish)

Heading down now to finish the VERONICA MARS episode I had begun and then I'll find something else to watch before I settle in with tonight's episode of THE CLOSER.
